Thinking about getting a Boosted board v2 for work commute - anyone have one?

You hold me in high regard, assuming I have enough coin to drop two grand on a bicycle. :Port :laughing

Have you strolled thru a bike shop in the last 5 years or so? Hate to say it but the bike I Linked is CHEAP compared to LOTS of mountain bikes theses days. 5 figs on a pedal bike is easy to do now a days. :wow

Yeah, I've always gotten a kick out of friends that can justify the expense. Gimme dat Huffy and I'm cool.

And at that price point I'll walk my beach cruiser up the hill. :laughing

That's for the base model with a 5-7 mile range. XR has 12-18 mile range, bigger batteries, etc so it was estimated on their forums by owners of the base model.

nah, the XR comes with it's own "ultracharger"

Which you can buy a version for the previous models.

Aaron dropped some coin on his electric bike and seems to like it. #livingthelife

Ah gotcha. So it’s more a 1:1 then? Still, Tesla is up to like 6:1 driving : charging. 30 min gets you 80%, which is about 250 miles, so at 70 mph that’d be a little over 3.5 hours of driving give or take yeah?

I'm sure there is more tech under the hood of a tesla than the xr

XR indicates 20 minutes to charge but 40 minutes from full depletion, what ever that means

Also - I have a bicycle - they get stolen often (yes even with good kryptonite locks) around the area i have to park it - so i wanted something i could bring inside with me and not worry about it.

A couple of coworkers commute occasionally on a One Wheel. They seem to like it. I've ridden one around work a little. Should be fun.

I see people riding boosted boards or similar but haven't tried one.

If getting stolen is your concern about the bicycle, a unicycle or a folding bicycle should be easy to take in with you.

lol $1800 for 1 wheel or $1800 for a goddamn mini moto, common guys are we not on a moto forum

i guess if he wanted positive posts to support the purchase of this boosted board, to actually seek and post on a forum that has boosted board owners?

Well you can take the one wheel on to trails. You can't do it with mini Moto. Legally.

I had a Boosted Board V2 (also the V1 for a couple of months). Had one too many close calls with it (high speed bails and 40-year-old-Army-knees don't go together). Had a feeling that thing was gonna put me in the ER sooner or later so dumped it for a profit before it could. Damn things are super fun though, which is part of the issue, it's so easy to go Pro mode and get up to max speed and hit a gap on the ground that you can't brake fast enough for. 80mm wheels are huge until you run into a 3" crack.

It's not for me. Dude rolls it regularly so seems he's getting his money worth. And with that huge wheel I bet it rolls over pebbles and rocks without trying to toss the rider over the top. :shrug
