thinking about getting a VFR

That's
what is killing me. I love how the VFR sounds perhaps more than any other motorcycle out there... Beautiful tiny small block V8 sounding... arrghhh.. Get's me going.

But that kind of gas mileage sucks... It sucks a lot. That's absolutely unacceptable.

Actually, ~40 MPG is not uncommon. EG, the GF's WeeStrom only gets 45. THe VFR is not like the <35 MPG on the freeway SuperHawk.

If you want high gas mileage, you get a Ninja 250.

I have to agree. Around 40-45mpg for a big S/T bike is pretty good. You can get better than that if you baby them, too.

I also agree that I LOVE that small-block V8 sound, especially if the bike has a Staintune (like mine .... :teeth)

I started with a 98 as my first bike. living in san diego and with gas prices in the stratosphere, the viffer was my main form of transportation for two years. I have a vtec now. I can't say I don't miss the gdc but the vtec is just as fun if not more. plus a lot of dealers are bending over to get rid of the 07-08's they're just not being bought because everyone who loves the vfr already has one.

Thats definatly a problem honda has with VFR owners, with the same bike since 2002, thats 6 years worth of bikes and no reason for existing owners to upgrade. You just ride em into the ground.

Well shit. I've already got that taken care of - I own one. I want something more sport touring oriented though :twofinger Planning on doing a lot of long distance riding this summer - I've done a lot on the 250 in the past but wouldn't mind something that would be a little better as far as 2 up & luggage is concerned. Going through all the options already but.. still unable to decide. The MPG the 250 is able to sip really has me spoiled though D; Rumor has it the Bandit 1250 still pulls in mid 40s/almost 50 even loaded down with two PAX and bags - I may have to look into that as well.

Small price to pay for not having to deal with Honda bullshit ;)

Actually, it's just about the highest price to pay of any sport touring motorcycle in the history of mankind.

:laughing

But, for that price, you do get to pay out the ass for servicing as well. I mean, what's not to like??

:thumbup
