any tips, tricks and things to look for and ask? Price wise, how much % off the MSRP should I ask or expect? TIA:)

Treat it as a used bike as far as what you should look for.

Depending on how many miles it has, they should knock between 10% and 20% off of the MSRP. If it has 3-4K miles it should be more towards the 20% figure.

You should be able to assume that it's had good maintenance, but you can't be so sure if it was broken in properly and whether or not it was abused when being ridden.

I've owned one demo bike and felt that it was a good deal all around.

The following is based on my personal experience. YEMV
Triumph dealers get a discount off cost starting at $500 for their demo bikes - depending on the model it can be up to $1500. The caveat is that the bikes don't qualify for that until they've seen 1500 miles.

That discount should translate directly to the buyers bottom line dollar for dollar. Getting 20% off MSRP? Maybe, not likely though, as most demo bikes get yanked out of service well before they hit 2500 miles. Case in point - the last half dozen demo bikes at the local Triumph dealership where I maintain their website have all been sold very shortly after they rolled over 1500 miles, a couple of those were actually _under_ 1500 and the dealership just ate the loss of the discount.

Whatcha buyin?

Also ask to see the service record.

Its a new model and year, im guessing mileage is under 1K (have to confirm). I test rode the moto a few weeks ago and it seems to be in tip top shape. As far as the history, the info that i got is that its been tracked for a day. Is this something that I should be concerned about?

I already have a quote OTD for a brand new one, seems like a fair deal but I if i can save a few $$ on a demo, im all for it.

Well said:thumbup

Also, if you're not paying cash, it is just as important to be careful about your loan particulars. Also, look into how the service department is at that particular dealer.:ride

The Ducati Streetfighter is one gorgeous sexy riding machine...

unlike the other ducati's , they don't have the appeal of a frappuccino maker...

or in the case of the Multistrada the appeal of a never-cleaned coffee maker in a Chevron refinery breakroom using a 2-year old can of Sanka. :toothless

My Speed Triple was a demo bike; I bought it because it was the only white one I was able to find at the time. It only had about 230 miles on it at the time, so I didn't get a huge discount, but the dealer did work with me. I end up getting about $500 off MSRP and they threw in about $800 worth of carbon fiber accessory parts. I felt like a I got a pretty good deal, so I left happy.

Thank you:)

Ohhhh shit :wow

If it's been tracked for a day, my guess is its one of the models Ducati has been inviting dealers to ride at the track. I'm somewhat skeptical that they already want to unload a demo Streetfigher S, but considering high-end italian bikes aren't exactly flying off the shelves right now, who knows.

But does it really have "Ducati Seattle" screened on the tank? :rolleyes

Make sure you are getting some kind of warranty with it. I bought my Aprilia from a dealer back east. It was a demo bike. But, it was the color scheme I wanted. It only had 160 miles on it. But, I got it for about 5k less than normal sale price.
It has been great. I have had a couple issues with it, but because its still under warranty, it was taken care of.

Also, if you need a shipper. We used Yellow freight. No issues. Only cost about 550 to ship from Maryland to here.

In Jedi mind-trick voice:

You will be giving that piece of shit Monster you no longer need to Brown 81. Yes, you will.

My old roomate picked up a demo'd Triumph Sprint RS after he wrecked his Sabre. It has 80k on the clock with regular maintenance, very few issues even for a bike of that milage, demo or not.

Good luck Asado - you know who to call with all of those aftermarket S4Rs tidbits you'll need to get rid of. :thumbup
