To rev bomb or not to rev bomb

Drew a picture instead. Note this is on stock clip for an r1. the handlebars have a handgrip "triangle" end that I put my ring and pinky finger on. If I were to stretch my hand there's a good 1-2 inches gap before I can even touch the horn button. To touch it w/ my thumb I need to break my grip on the clutch pretty hard.
I don't understand how or why that became the 'proper' place to put your hands. I've never ridden that way.

My hands are placed here.

How often do you use your horn?

By the time I find the button and press it with gloves on I'd be in big trouble. I'd rather use my hands to brake or steer out of the way.

Besides, most motorcycle horns are wimpy and won't get anyone's attention anyway.

I do it in tunnels because I think it's fun to hear the noise echo in a tunnel and to annoy everyone else. It's even better when there's traffic congestion. (I also like honking the horn in a car in tunnels because everybody else starts doing it too.)

There's this one tunnel in Switzerland. Gotthard Road Tunnel, I think it's called. Travelling north, it basically puts you in a trance after it starts turning right and heading downhill.
I freaking love tunnels. I drop a gear or two just to hit 12-13k without hitting felony speeds LOL

Your hand on the grip is in the wrong position. It should be up against the flare on the grip. Every bike I’ve ever ridden has easy access to the horn button. Even while operating the clutch. It should become automatic when you want to use the horn.

I also pull the clutch lever just using my middle, ring, and pinkie fingers. My index finger remains wrapped around the grip. Same way with the brake lever. This gives me more control over the bars while operating the levers. And it also gives me more control over how much braking I apply.

No one owes you room, on a moto you make your own lane splitting destiny. I figure rev bombs and or honking comes off rude to the average driver, and it takes up effort better spent controlling the bike.

Yeah definitely love to hear my bike in a tunnel. Fuck yeah sounds so fucking cool. Going through the Waldo drop it down to Gear on the way into Marin. Fuck yeah rev bomb forever.
I even do it in cars too, especially if they got headers and flow masters love that sound.
Regarding Rob bombers haters, gonna hate.
Keeping it real here

Besides, almost no one can hear a rev bomb. If you are hearing it on your bike, that’s one thing. But if you are expecting others ahead of you to hear it with their windows closed and their stereo on, that’s wishful thinking.

Well, it ain't a rev bomb but I will definitely give the bike some gas in a tunnel because it sounds great.
