Top Gun 2? Really? Really???

I can see Val Kilmer trying to get into a pressure suit.

Besides the beefcake and machismo, I thought Top Gun was interesting because of it is attempt to introduce aerial combat.

I learned something about aerial combat after watching "Dogfights", the History Channel series. For example, I didn't realize there is a attack style based on a head on fight, or pilots will fly inverted in some situations.

Of course, if Top Gun 2 does make it to the theaters, I am not sure I want to see sci-fi drone fights.

i'll see it. i want to see what bruckheimer does with it.

would have been better if one of the scott brothers directed it but with bruckheimer you know you'll get top rate CGI (and crappy but minimal dialogue).

I rewatched Top Gun. Such an awkward film. Cruiser has like 3 distinct times when he could have kissed/hooked up with Kelly and yet each time he just walks away.

Buffalo or original?

Steve

I would watch this. Even though I'm sure it'll contain the usual "theres no substitute for a pilot's intuition" Hollywood schtick, which will feature Tom saving the day after the drones fail because of getting hacked or something.

i think val should be in it so that his character can be shot down by a drone and motivate maverick back into the fight:laughing

The 3 givens of a Tom Cruise movie.
1. Has to take his shirt off.
2. Has to run. A lot.
3. Must repeat a task.
