TOP REASONS YOU ARENT RACING WITH TTP!

I was 245 through college while playing football. 205 is my race weight, takes a lot of work for me to float down this low. In fact, off to the gym I go ...

i was 215 when i was in good shape. 235 is my fat weight. it doesn't take much work at all to get this high. in fact...oooh..a chocolate chip muffin!

So please post up in this thread your reasons for not playing in our event this time.

1) it's a 5.5 hr drive
2) the pavement appears to be horrible (layout looks awesome though)
3) no water or electricity? sounds like someone just ran a paver out in the middle of BFE. any cafe or anything like that? i'm guessing no.
4) not well attended (i know, self fulfilling prophecy, but still...)

i will say, the price/value looks great. every round at AFM this year you seemed to get less and less track time, at least on saturdays, to the point where you actually think to yourself, jesus, is this really worth it. and the class structure is much better. AFM has way too many fucking classes. super pole and heat races look interesting as well.

looks like you got a great program, it's just a track that's far away and badly in need of a repave imo. i could probably live with one of those though. if they repaved it i'd make the trip at least once, just to see.

it's not as bad as people seem to make it sound... there's only really 2 places where you CAN'T avoid the bumps...and both are braking zones.

at 1:21 in the video are pretty good braking bumps..and at 1:55, those are the worst ones...all straight line braking in both cases.

there ARE other bumps...but if you know the lines, you can go around em. the layout is an absolute HOOT.

oh, and yeah, someone DID take a paver to BFE to make a track. :laughing

It's the end of the season and peeps are broke, broken, and tired. Bikes are tired, broke, and the now the girlfriend is broke from when the bike broke mid-season. And that's if everything went well.

AFM has a hard time getting people to show up for the last round if people aren't in the points, and is why they don't do Buttonwillow late in the season.

I'm much less willing to go out and risk destroying a bike as I'm just going to get fatter in the off season and any skills I hone will turn to mush over the holidays.

I hope that helps 'splain things. It sounds like you have a great program going, but it is just a tough season to put on an event.

No 250 GP specific class

hmm...doesn't look that bumpy. yikes at 1:36. first few turns at the end of the front straight look sweet, running it into that long left hander at the end has got to be fun. but what is that fucking wall doing on the outside of the right hander? jesus, pull that thing up and haul it away. i'd rather run into a rocky fucking hillside than a wall. speaking of, what's the terrain like if you do run it off? will it basically kill you like willow springs?

6.3lbs = 1 horse :laughing

6.3 lbs = 100.8 ounces

1 mechanical horsepwer = 550 ft·lbf/s

If however, you are referring to the reciprocal relation of mass and power in the power to weight ratio of a device, you must first establish original mass and power to find the exchange.

I'm just saying…

:laughing

Let’s not get started on the importance mass distribution in relation to moment of inertia.

(even more important than the simple measured total mass of the vehicle)

The only places where there is a wall on the outside of any corners you are carrying too little speed to make it to the wall. Even if your brake lines snapped you would have a hard time hitting the wall. In turn 9 if they pulled the wall out you would go off a 30ft plus drop off. It's the only place I've been where the wall is a better solution than not having one.

Run off is getting better bit by bit. There is plenty of it but there are some spots where they have not removed all of the rocks. I'm not sure when they have been removing them but every time I go out there there is fewer and fewer rocks to hit.

The track has potential, it's just taking a lot of time to reach it.

It's a pretty slow corner. I've never seen or heard of anyone hitting it. Matter of fact, I highsided in that corner on Saturday (turn 5). Bike never even made it off the track. Neither did I.

there's definately a few spots i wouldn't wanna run off...

like in the t1a/1b transition...i'm doing ~150mph thru there, and if i fucked up 1a and went off track to the left... i can't imagine it would be very pleasant. then again, it'd be pretty freggin hard to fuck up that corner...and most people would go right, where it's safer.

t2 wouldn't be that great if you somehow managed to get past the run off area (which is pretty big there).

3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 are all pretty safe. safer than pretty much any turn at infineon.

12 offers little entry run off...but would require catastrophic failure (stuck throttle, zero brakes) before it starts to become a detriment. ultimately, 12 is a pretty slow corner. i've seen 1 person hit the tire wall that's beyond the gravel trap once. he was doing about 3 or 4 mph by the time he fell over and onto the wall. rider nor bike were harmed.

13, 14, 15 all have adequate run-off in relation to bike speed.

16 could use some pruning...that's where the heaviest braking bumps are...surprisingly few bikes crash there...and even when they do, it's never been bad...but running off in 16 will prolly result in a bent rim at least.

17 would be another weird place to run off.. it'll lead you downhill, at a slant. essentially, you'd end up sidehilling over some decent sized rocks. again, in order to screw that corner up, you'd REALLY have to fuck up bad, considering the entire corner is trail-braking.

there is no t18, 19, or 20...you just go straight to 21 (the bowl)... in the couple dozen crashes i've seen there, i've never seen anyone make it more than a foot or 2 off the track. *shrugs*

the last corner...not even sure what number it is... has a LOOOOOOT of track...maybe 60 or 70 ft wide right there... if you happen to make a blunder, it's prolly one of the safest corners to crash in in terms of run off space.

hope that helps!

ps - don...if you crash there and i catch it, i'll totally sell you your crash pics. :twofinger

ahh, at least there is one person left on barf who doesn't take things too seriously. i was beginning to wonder. nice one

rfr is friggin AWSOME! bumps - yah so what that is called tuning your suspension.

I want that track to stay open. It is so much fun. It is good to hear they are repaving spots- though I dont mind the "character" of the track.

I hope to support TTP when I have the cash!
