nice

you realize track fairing's are necessary for a track day. unless you are turning your bike into a track bike...

and two, did you get PR series power races, or the commercial crap?

Nice. but the shop-nazi says the shop is a mess - clean it up!

So all that work has to be done to make a bike track legal????:wow Count me out for many many moons....Geez

Yeah I bought some rashed up fairings from someone and had it painted, its a hassle to take off the stock ones and put on the track ones, I need 2 bikes :thumbup

Lol no he did a little much. In order to get mine track ready ( since I alreadt drained the coolant and have WW) All I have to do is pull a fuse, disconnect 1 connection for all the tailsection lights and remove my mirrors

track fairings are getting painted, will have pictures soon. plus the zx6r fairing come off quite easily. once the sides are off (12 allen bolts) I take mirrors off, disconnect one connector and the whole upper fairing slides of in one piece. it takes about 20 min to get the bike naked. then about 10 min to get the track fairings on.

I got em from hitman5532, it what he recommended. they are virgin and that is all i know.

and like in my previous post, the fairings come off super easy, and i plan on having it as a dual purpose, track and street.

Hey daredevil, what gears am I running, what kind of suit am I using, which tires do i have on my bike, and what was the fix on my engine recently. Since you you like to make presumptions about shit- you should let me know these things just in case I dont know.

I gave him tires from 1972 that are bald in the middle, and nobody can ride on. Afterall, nobody could race before you told them what tires to ride on. Maybe you should tell all the people running dunlops they are wrong. Maybe kawowie should have jsut gone and got full slicks from the gp bikes, cause afterall you can't run anything less than that, especially for your first trackday:rolleyes

I don't appreciate your attitude. Everything I've purchased from hitman has been top notch. I've never been to the track, so i am going of hitmans years of track experience, taking his advice, and running with it. I've know hitman for a few years now and we have been riding pretty much every weekend for the past two. Stop being a dick.

he is right though, the commercial power races are crap

well enlighten me then, what is the difference, how do you tell the difference, what is to be expected performance wise between the too?

The newest (like the prc-v) I told you about are even more aggressive and can last longer when you are running A group speeds. But are more $ and you probably won't benifit from yet. You will be able to use them through this season without issue.

The biggest issue is someone acting like power races are crap, simply because something new came out, where as before the new ones came out, they were raved about, and the same people who liked them before suddendly say they are garbage. After we hit the track on sunday, you'll see just how much you like/dislike them :teeth

I have noticed that the best advice I have received from riders/racers usually always starts like this "Now this is what works for me, but it may not necessarily work for you...."

People quick to give advice or quick to bash a tire, product, brand, get little or no thought from me. Now that's just me and it may not necessarily work for you:thumbup Try not to take any advice/comment to seriously unless it comes from someone with a resume to back it up. Why flame someone who bash's Power races, unless you are sponsered by or invented them. You will soon find that everyone has something to say be it good, bad, or ignorant.

Edit: Perfect time to clean callipers/pistons and replace brake fluid if needed :eboy

i believe the issue is the "commercial" power race, not the real race tires available only from afmotorsports even if both share the same name.

regardless, for a first trackday, they should be fine.

Interesting topic going on here. Im always in search of info like this, so, would you be so kind to explain the differences between a "commercial" Power Race, and a "real" Power race? Is there a way to tell the difference?

I know that dunlop has something similar in the sense that the 211GP NTECs are the business, while the 211GP are the US made ones and are good, but not great, only if you are truly able to extract the full potential of the NTECs.

I track prepped the new R1 this weekend. Here's what I did:

Flush radiator fluid (doesn't have ot be done each track day. Recommend once a year).
Disconnected taillight.

That's it. If you have wheel weights, you have to tape them and if you have mirrors, tape them up to. On most bikes, that's it.

Check here for more information.
