I was cited for speeding 16+, red signal failure to stop and headset or earplugs. Not a great way to start the day!

The first two carry a point each. If I complete traffic school will it take care of both points or just one?

Has anyone been to sacramento county traffic court recently? Are they reducing fines if you plead no contest and ask for a reduction and traffic school?

If I recall correctly, traffic school may be used to mask only one infraction from your record.

Sounds like you're in for a $900 ticket, as well. I'd recommend arraignment for your ticket. Ask the judge for leniency.

I knew things were going to get ugly when the first thing he said was tell me why I shouldn't impound your bike. I looked at the bail schedule and it's 1054 without the traffic school fees. Good lord that is a lot!

Really hoping I can get traffic school and a reduction.

I'm pretty sure he was laughing when he drove his motorcycle the wrong way into the on coming traffic lane so he didn't have to wait at the red light to do a u turn. The only way it could have been better is if he wheelied it as he completed the turn.

Maybe there's more to this story, but none of those offences should be impoundable.

I think 3 traffic infractions can be considered an automatic 'reckless' which is a misdemeanor and could indeed lead to an impound? Your fate probably rests a lot on attitude after you stop.

If anyone is certain about the multiple points and traffic school I would appreciate the information.

I might head down and watch the traffic court to see how they are handling fine reductions unless someone else has went recently.

It is no doubt going to be pricey but I think agreeing to go to traffic school will show the judge a certain amount of good faith on your part. Talking to an attorney might be a good investment as well.

this has been covered in previous threads and my recollection is there's a lot of room for officer discretion. If they can articulate why they believe your riding was reckless one particularly egregious violation could probably be enough. :ride

23103. (a) A person who drives a vehicle upon a highway in willful
or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty
of reckless driving.

So, you got a red light ticket, and a speeding ticket? Wow.....
