I wanted to remove the stickers off my 03 r6, does anyone know the best way to do this?.. i removed two smaller stickers earlier with a card by scraping it off, but it took forever and there was the sticky residue left behind..

blow dryer and go buy some goo gone. A heat gun would be best but if your not familiar with them you might end up melting your plastics

There are a couple of other threads on this you may want to check out. Heat and start to peal back with finger. Don't scrape it! Use mineral spirits, goo gone or my favorite WD-40 to remove adhesive.

Usually the sticker on the tank has clear coat over it; even the ones with a "dull" finish so don't even try. If the tank has the mat finish, a "shadow" will remain on the tank.

So, should i even bother removing the tank ones? i wanted to put those grip paddings on the sides of the tank.. maybe i should just place it on top of it?

the two on the top with the writing on them doesn't ahve the clear coat on it, but the stripes on the side of the tank are clear coated on top.

Forget the Goo Gone, WD-40, and Simple Green.....
get a bunch of beer and prepare to get frustrated, impatient, over anxious, and pissed off, then drunk.

Hair dryer helps, but you can actually get the decal too hot and it'll stretch more than it'll pull from the tank. You gotta learn it & go slow.
Your fingernail is the least abrasive and strongest thin tool with which to pick at the decal. Be patient.
Some decals have another clear decal over the original; if you can get them BOTH at juuuust the right temp', and pull at them such that they BOTH pull off without seperating..... you'll have less to clean up with yer Goo Gone.
Some decals come off reeeeal easy just by warming 'em up with a hair dryer, others come off in chips and will test your patience.

GOT BEER?

+1...

Estimate how long you think it'll take you, and then multiply that by 4 :thumbup

Remember - do NOT confuse Goo Gone with Goof Off. One will take the remaining adhesive off quite nicely. The other will take the paint off too. DAMHIKIJK

heat gun... takes 30 secs to remove a decal

hair dryer the sticker/decals, wd40 for residue =P also heard of toothpaste for the residue, never tried it myself though.

Call me a luddite, but I would pay a couple of dollars extra when purchasing a motorcycle to have it delivered graphic and sticker free.

Blow drier/WD-40 here.

One of the first things I did when I got my new bike was to remove that "NINJA" gheyness from the fairings. For some reason, every time I see that I think of Kato from the Pink Panther movies, and I end up hearing "haaaaa-yaaaa" karate chop sounds in my head.

zippo fluid is the best way to clean the residue
