If you are going to the beach might want to rethink it and if you are coastal higher ground is recommended.

Going to check the news now!

Looks like it is from Davenport up north to Eureka.

Appears it is from an earthquake.

Definitely felt something but as we are far away just a sense of momentary vertigo.

Get ready. Wave incoming in at 12 noon. Get you nooner in before it comes.

There is a lot of wave sensing hardware out there. They might be able to keep track of what’s going on pretty well. You guys keep me posted. Thanks.

News says Cresent City is at risk. A lot of Oregon Coastal areas are low. Since I have done a deep dive on Cresent City Tsunami I get there is some real danger and certainly if it does someone will be caught out.

Expected to hit the GG Bridge at noonish as Jammer said.

Just saw video of students being told to move to higher ground, maybe Galileo High. Also, a coworker mentioned there was video of water receding which is a bit scary. Good luck everyone!!

Did not feel it, but looking out the window my pool was moving. Went out to make sure a duck did not land, it happens where I am. Came in and sure enough it was an earthquake. Checked my cameras and it moved enough to start recording the pool camera.

It was on a slip/strike fault, so probably less likely to cause a tsunami

I have been seeing amusing videos and snaps of people rushing to the water’s edge to “watch” for it.. That was primary value now that nothing really happened. Presumably, they all vote, too. (Wince)

I'm wondering if this earthquake put more stress on the faults in CA, there were some very big ones south of the US in the last several years, but now with one north of SF and LA it's probably only a matter of time, perhaps even a few years before the built of stress has to let go.
