Yup. Trying to do it under 24 hours too.

Looking at his SPOT page, I'd say he's just 50 miles north of Las Vegas. So almost half way done. He started at 6 a.m.

Whew. I get tired just looking at his route.

Riding his motorsickle.

Unnamed, baby, means I ain't saying. ('Cuz I gots no rights to even mention it! lol)

But I sent him a text message earlier this a.m.: Woo hoo! Go go go!

I'll answer your question with a question:

What did Edmund Hillary say when asked why he climbed Mt. Everest?

(And no, it's not a man's gots to do what a man's got to do. j/k!)

Hopefully he is not riding a Duc. 1500 miles and he would waste 25% of his allowed miles betwen those $1000 services. :laughing

Why not?

When he's done, I'll post his name.

I'm still confused on why you would post it before their time is up--or even not allowing themselves to post. Now the stigmata of suspense is lost.

It's almost like riding on the coattails of their glory. Ever seen Long Way Down? You're like one of the producers. :laughing

AFAIK he's not tooting his horn here. It's also not any different than a backmarker AFMer who puts his AFM number in his sig. I see a lot more of that on this forum compared to the BMWMOA where all you see are IB member numbers. FTR it's not that hard to do a SS1000. A 1500 takes more hours and/or a lot more speed. I'd like to get a 50cc one of these days. I doubt I'll ever get around to it but it's on my list. 1500 is a feat in itself but my hats off to the people who do the multiday rallys. They are just different people. The IBR always seems to have the same names up front.

Good luck Andy....at least that's who I'm guessing you are. Keep the little one in your britches and the big one between the ditches.:thumbup

Yeah, let us all be happy that this forum isn't filled with signatures such as below:

K6 GIXXER SEX HUNDY
FENDER ELIMINATOR
LED LIGHTS
400-WATT SOUND SYSTEM WITH 180GB IPOD
CHROME HANDLEBARS

1500 in 36 is a benchmark to shoot for, for the big ride.. The mother of all long distance rides that all motorcyclist romanticize about at some point or another.

'The Iron Butt.' And you have to be documented to get in. :x Hence the smaller rides..

So you can't put a guy down for wanting to prove something to himself, cause that's pretty much what LD is about.. Exploring boundaries. Practice makes perfect. :teeth
