My g/f and I had a good time at the races, except for being way too hot!!

I was a girl and made it less than halfway up the Army Rockwall. My g/f was at bottom laughing at me. :twofinger Thanks Sweetie. j/k

I want to apologize to the BARFers who called me, I never heard my phone,
I'm sorry that we did not meet.

The lack of vendors was rather sad. Part of the fun is checking all the cool m/c goodies, and getting free stuff. Laguna sets the bar high. They have sooo many vendors, it makes Infineon look like amatuers comparitively.

I only bought one thing; a (Fast Girl) t-shirt for a friends 2 y/o daughter. I grabbed lots of free posters for the neighborhood kids.

What did you buy?

I bought the obligatory race day t-shirt, but not much else. Stopped and spoke with a few vendors, picked up a couple business cards, but didn't really see anything I felt I had to buy right now. I think you were right on with the Laguna comment, I brought home way more crap from there, even bought a couple of things just because they were such a good deal. I know I took more money with me to the GP, because I planned on spending time in the vendor area. I spent a lot more time in the garage area at the AMA races, nabbing autographs and pics of riders. It's kind of the way the races are set up, AMA allows way more access to teams and riders than MotoGP does, so I think they know that lots of fans will be in the pit/garage areas.

I froze bottled water and tossed em in the saddlebags. The large jug stayed cold all day (although I didn't get there until noon or so after the 100 minute ride there).

I bought a sammich on Saturday. I didn't buy anything on Sunday.

I figured you probably didnt hear your phone as i never heard my phone all weekend either and my wife was pissed:laughing

it seems that the vendors at most major events are going the way of the dinosaurs, and after talking to a few friends who own companies that make parts and such i compleatly understand why.one of my friends makes parts for 50's and big bikes and his whole view is why spend gas and money to go to the event, spend money on the space at the event and then end up selling 20 or 30 t shirts all weekend when he can sit at home and do other things and people will still purchase his stuff from his website or places they know they can get it.

the problem is with gas prices so high companies dont want to load up their trucks and drive to infineon to sell stuff they could sell without being there. the other thing that bugs me is that alot of the places are selling things that can be bought for much cheaper at other places and you dont really see deals at events anymore:thumbdown

oh well i still had fun shooting the event saturday and sunday even if i didnt buy anything:thumbup

i didnt buy jack.

ok ok i bought an over-priced Pork sandwich for $9 :rolleyes

I wanted a Ducati polo. 30% off...and it was still $70. And they didnt have my size :x, so i said screw it.

Almost bought an AMA tshirt, but then i decided to save the money for Laguna and buy something i really want....

I am sure the prices for the vendors to have booths has jumped up and that would also put into account the lack of vendors :(

I bought two 3-day passes to USGP...they came along with 2 FREE paddock passes ($100 value). I was so stoked! good thing I waited this year to buy the tix.

Got some free stuff. free beer cozy. free stickers for da kids...which was cool, cuz we went home and my boy got all excited to put his cool BRAAP! sticker on his spiderman bicycle. He wanted it right over spidey's head! he said 'it's cool and fast!' the boi makes me smile sometimes.

got yer message today, lefty. no worries. I had my hands full with the kids and a hobbled wife. Exchanging pleasantries would have been all I had time for.

I froze bottled water and tossed em in the saddlebags.

We froze our Camelbak bladder the night before. Ice-cold water for the first half of the day, at least.

I was hoping to look at the KLX250S and WR250R while I was there. Yammie didn't bring out the bikes, though.

Kinda sad, I heard the crowd watching was pretty sparse too.

It wouldn't be much of a "RACE DAY!" atmosphere with no vendors...

4 Corndogs + 1 fries + 3 beers for the family: $53. :|

...for the 'family', yeah right!!! :laughing

I bought one of those 'brain freeze' things for the g/f, and had several iced coffees on Friday.

Sat, I splurged and bought a pulled pork sandwich and a hot link for the ole lady, wink wink.

Then she wanted me to buy her desert....:wow

I told her; "You have to wait until we are married and I have the big insurance policy on you, then you can eat all of the fried fudes you want".

I stayed away from the beer, until I got back to the hotel. It was just too hot for me to drink beer.

Kinda sad, I heard the crowd watching was pretty sparse too.

Ya know, I got there around 9:30 a.m. in my cage, and I had to park in Bum-Fuck-Egypt... somewhere on a hill outside of turn 7-ish.

All car parking lots were packed. There were bikes parking everywhere.

Yet the stands looked very sparse.

Didn't add up.

I bought a bottle of water and a Tri-tip Sammich on Sat. And a Bottle of water on Sunday.

I just bought 1 bottle at the beginning of the day and kept refilling it.

I was a little disappointed that there wasn't much in the vender area. I was interested in the t-pro back protector but was told a price that was was $80 higher than the advertised price on their web site. I asked if that was a special event price and the vender said 'yes', but he wouldn't charge me sales tax. :rolleyes

The food prices were so high we decited to wait until after we left the track to eat real food at a restruant for less $$. :thumbdown

I ate and drank for free at the Ducati hospitality booth.. hmmm good... Fresh plums were very good... As well as the Casey Stoner water :D
