Warriors 16-17 Season

Can't blame him, he's proved his worth as a 6th man; he's talking to the Spurs and Kings.

The Thunder picked up Paul George in a trade.

WOW......

I like Paul George a lot as a player. Standard question, can he mesh/share ball with Westbrook, etc...if Adams develops, and if they get the "solid veteran" that seems to help teams.........

Really interesting though. I probably "should" like the Chris Paul trade to the Rockets, but I've always found him to be kind of a floppy bitch (way more than Harden). Will be difficult to root for him.

The Celtics just can't land anyone. Bet Gordon Hayward signs with someone else, so they'll have to go all in for Derrick Rose or someone.

Only cost them Oladipo and Sabonis, but no draft picks... they have George for at least a year.

Look for the Cavs to keep making it to the Finals, the East is losing the arms race and will apparently have 1 good team, followed by a couple of adequate teams, the good players heading west.

Griffin is staying with the Clippers.

I think it will come down to if he wants to play for Stevens again.

The talent drain out of the East over the last couple of weeks has been crazy.

A paul george rental to unload oladipos 80M contract... seems, okay for the thunder. PG13 was gonna leave next year anyways might as well get some pieces

Well looks like Lebron will have another cake walk of a season in the east again. Maybe the Celtics stockpiling picks and $$$ are planning for next year.

Steph signed a $201m deal over 5 years. Damn. $40m per year. John wall of the wizards signed for $42m a year however.

Sounds like Iggy is gone. Livingston is back for 3 years.

I won't go back and quote myself saying that Curry would take the supermax. (But I totally said it. Multiple times.) He's worth it, you know? And he's a fool not to take that money. Good for him, because he earned it with three fantastic years with Golden State.

Iggy also earned his cash - good for him, too. Livingston is good to preserve for sure.... George to OKC was unexpected, and I guess will be interesting. People wondered how Durant would mesh with GSW's style of play, and obviously it went way better than expected. So who knows what PG can do there. Obviously Westbrook is a good player, so we'll see what they can do as a team. OKC will need more than that, though, to compete.

Yea, talent drain in the east is... unfortunate. That kind of thing isn't good for the league ;/

What do y'all think of the Rudy Gay backup plan if Iggy leaves? I don't see how the Warriors could afford Iggy. He could probably start on the Spurs.

David West to return.

Thunder with PG13 and Westbrick: 1st rd playoff team
Rockets with CP3 and Har_en: 2nd rd playoff team

Hey, what if the Spurs signed some combo of Hayward, Hill, and Iguodala. Damn.

Iggy is not going to be able to sustain 35-40 mins a night. No way. He deserves to get paid, but any team picking him up should know he cant do full starter minutes

None of these signings so far threaten the warriors.

Cp3 to the rockets means no defense and CP3 is old.

OKC has 2 guys that can score now and Westbrook sucks on defense.

Spurs are even older and Ginobli may retire.

The warriors had 4 all star starters that are just exponentially better than any other starting 4.

Over the next 5+ years they are going to have to count on draft picks hitting and playing big meaningful minutes. McCaw, Damian jones and new draftee Jordan Bell all have to turn into good players.

Cavs have done nothing so far. Can't see them keeping Korver, Channing Frye or darron williams.

Cavs don't need to do much. Richard Jefferson, of all people, was their best reserve and they can only improve the rest of the bench.

What do you think of the long term implications of Iggy's contract on the team? Money well spent or Tristan Thompson part 2? Hope we can resign Klay when he's up...

Here's the current cap situation, courtesy of the Warriors subreddit.

With Steph's, Shaun's, Andre's, and DWest's deals we are now at:

Total Current Salary: $100,246,532

When KD signs his Non-Bird 1+1 we will be at: $132,094,652
Around $7 million above the apron although we don't know the specifics of each contract yet.
That's 11/15 roster spots, but we still have to officially sign Bell.
We have to sign or replace Zaza, Javale, Ian Clark, and Matt Barnes.
We have the Taxpayer MLE availble: $5.192 million
As well as minimum contracts and one more two-way contract (that doesn't count against the 15 man roster).
We have non-bird rights on Zaza, Javale, and Matt Barnes so we can offer then 120% of their last contract. And Early-Bird on Ian who we can offer 130%.

We overpaid imo. A mil or two less odes nothing to him and pushes into maybe losing all of our exceptions. Plus hows he;s been aging and a pretty steep decline since 2015. I think he gets traded but I've also been pretty bad at predicting the nba transfers.

Warriors FO will try to get Iggy traded before his 3rd year or Lacob is going to pay out of his own pocket to keep Klay when the time comes.

Durant re-signing for 2 yrs/$53 million. Took a $9 million pay cut to keep Andre/Shaun.

Possibly signing Jamal Crawford or....Swagg P ( nick young). Please please sign Jamal Crawford! He's good for 15-20 off the bench easy.
