Wet head inside helmet right after a shower

I would be more concerned with the internal contours of the helmet molding your drying hair into weird contours.

My Shoei RF1000 leaves my hair with four ridges, like a faux-hawk x 4

I just say, " my hair stylist's name is Helmut"

having my hair damp and then putting on my helmet on makes my helmet smell good...smells like flowers :)

can we stick our head in yours and check for ourselves?

just the tip would be fine :p

This issue is a nightmare.

My hair is long, AND CURLY. If I leave it to air dry without messing with it, it comes out nice in ringlets. If I brush it-- or squash it with a helmet-- even when it is dry, the result is a crazy stupid looking fro. If my hair is WET? ...Curly hair molds itself like clay, if it is mushed into a weird position while wet and drying, it will STAY LIKE THAT. FOR DAYS. Also, if there is any hair that escapes the helmet and gets into the wind, it will immediately attempt to form permanent dreads. ....Don't even bring up the hair dryer. You have not seen horror... you have not known madness, until you see what a hair dryer does to curly hair. I don't give a shit WHAT your gender is, nobody wants that.

Now, if I had a way to tuck wet hair into a thin towel that would stay in place on my head without smearing it around as the helmet goes on or off, that would be fine. It would be great, in fact-- though I also worry about the dampness/mildew question. Also having the mass of my hair plus fabric inside the helmet puts extra pressure on my skull that can cause a massive headache.

:teeth get a scorpion helmet...take the inside cushioning out and throw them in the washer....done :teeth

using a head sock will at least make it uniform for a reduction of viewable helmet hair. Moreso than if it was directly in contact w/helmet.

I used to wear a thin balaclava during wet/cold rides, but it actually made my helmet head worse because of the extra layer making everything tighter. I wear a Shoei RF-1000, so see the other comment about the ridges for what my hair usually looks like. :laughing

I use my helmet as a jizz rag. That way I'm not concerned that the helmet stank is coming from the fact that I have wet hair.

I take my helmet to the shower once in a while with me. I haven't cut my hair since I left active duty a year ago :D

Very nice!!!

use a skull cap, balaclava, or a do-rag

(just not all 3 at the same time :laughing)

Sorry to disappoint fellas - me got the third leg ergo moi no chick. :twofinger I am not bothered about my hair - it pretty much remains the same whichever way I comb/gel :| But yeah I was bothered about the inside of a stinky helmet. No more worries though - twisty-curly it is!! :party
