What are the point of supermoto bikes?

It would seem that Shift brand riding gear might not match with electric bikes that have done away with gear changes.

:laughing Good one :laughing I was thinking ...what does the bike cost? What does that shift jacket cost? Would someone that can pop for that bike, buy a shift Jacket?

But..thinkin the promo needs funding...and that may answer it.

No.

A motard is the absolute perfect second bike to have in a stable, but is not the ideal bike for, say, touring or lots and lots of distance stuff.

No its a perfect 3rd or 4th bike.

I miss my WR450 motard but it sucked for anything long and far away.

Ha, fair point.

Ryan is sponsored by Shift and the video was a shared project, so he kept his gear with his name across it. For our other on-road stuff, Dainese has been awesome about providing us gear.

Ha, and my (hypothetical) Caterham sucks for Tahoe ski trips and running the Rubicon.

Another good thing about SM, is that you can crash the bike, pick it up, and keep riding!

Unfortunately, there may not be a point any longer. Look at how many new supermotos we are getting in the US now. Bums me out that so many riders are pumped on SM, yet it's pretty much a dying breed.

You can always do what people did before the fad - build your own.:thumbup

After riding a drz400sm the quick way to sum it up is a sumo is like a honey badger.

Supermoto don't care. Supermoto don't give a sh*t.
