What Are You Thinking Of Right Now?

lol! I will first look around within the County to see if there's another position I qualify for and want. Then I will not mind if I leave at this time. Enough is enough.

Now don't get me wrong. I am not claiming victim status. I understand that some of my reactions are fuxored.

Since you are at this point in your life, would there be any value in telling management exactly what is driving you to do this? Perhaps it can be fixed and you can work a bit longer before you actually retire.

such a great thought.
It won't get better because the characters won't change one bit.
I am not willing to change my emotional reactivity to unjust practices.

Maybe you might get a better position. Or something even better. I’d always try to change my situation at work before quitting.

But sometimes there is nothing to be done. The last full time job I had, the jerk of a CEO called me while I was on vacation to tell me I was now layed off. (Fucking asshole.) I found new work through a friend of mine and ended up starting my own engineering consulting firm. I worked from home and eventually retired 3 or 4 years later. Which was especially handy as my wife was descending into the depths of Alzheimers and needed me full time.

Sometimes what seems to be a bad thing can lead to the best of things.

A good friend of ours is a ghost "hunter". She is also a docent at the Point Sur lighthouse, which she says is heavily haunted.
am definitely not a ghost hunter, but have seen 3. the woman in portugal was the only human. saw a cat in an old victorian hotel in healdsburg, and a small white dog in an old hotel in oxford that used to be prison. i was there on business and was telling my boss about it the next morning at breakfast. he told me i was full of shit. the waiter overheard us, interrupted, and said it was common. back when it was a prison, they let the prisoners keep dogs in their cells, and guests see them frequently.

I saw one in my teens, at the foot of my bed in Santa Clara. More to the point, it appeared to be the grim reaper standing over me. Shawl, sickle and all. Shortly thereafter I experienced my first motorcycle accident, which (obviously) I survived.

In England we had a soda delivery man who regaled us with ghost stories at each of his visits. We were on RAF Lindholme at the time, and the story of Lindholme Willie or Billy Lindholme, depending on one's perspective and nationality. https://www.mysteriousbritain.co.uk/hauntings/raf-lindholme-and-lindholme-willie/

A friendly bomber apparently crashed in one of the many nearby bogs. I never saw the ghost.
