thinking about downieville. weird geographical inverse of our town. both mid 1800’s gold rush towns. ours is at the top of a ridge, steep canyons on both sides, wild rivers at the bottom of both gorges. they are at the bottom of a gorge with steep canyon walls on both sides, with a wild river running through the town. no clue why it fascinates me to think about that, but it does.
plus, there’s a pub there with the best fries EVER.
then again, maybe it’s the fries that make me think about the town. roadtrip?
