What are your favorite/interesting food/restaurant finds on your motorcycle route?

Just got back from Big Sur this weekend and I have to recommend Nepenthe off Hwy 1.

Always gotta stop for an egg roll when riding around Berryessa at Turtle Rock. Just did it last Sunday as a matter of fact!

9 Burger. :) Yummy

Angelo's Wine Country Deli in Carneros on 121. A favorite of the Sear's Point racers. Most fans don't know of it, `cause it is past Infineon toward Napa/Sonoma.

Good meat, jerky and credible sandwiches. Smoked turkey on light rye. Better than anywhere I've ever sampled. They will vacuum seal their meats. Routinely walk away dropping a couple of bills on jerky and pounds of sliced smoked turkey.

Yelp Reviews of Angelo's

Worth a detour.

+1 on Gott's (Formerly Taylor's Refresher)

...and must mention Foster's Freeze in Boulder Creek.

with all the mentions of 36 surprised no one has posted the wildwood store. They're a great stop, to say they are motorcycle friendly wouldn't do the justice. only stop between fortuna and red bluff that has 91. http://www.wildwoodstore.com/

another great one is the marina at bucks lake. bucks lake road is a slice of heaven and stopping at the marina makes it a perfect trip. http://www.buckslakemarina.com/marina.html

both have great food and wonderful staff.

Damnit! I knew that name looked familiar. I just passed it today on my little evening run but never paid much attention to it. That burger does look legit. I gotta make sure to make a stop there next tme. :ride

The Junction Cafe' -= Mines Road & Del Puerto Canyon Road.

We need a new one in the immediate East Bay for those of us
who ride ride Redwood Road, Grizzley Peak, Skyline, Bear Creek,
Wildcat Canyon, Palomares, Calavares, etc. EAST BAY....

If you're doing Redwood, I would suggest heading out Redwood, crossing Skyline, go down the hill to Sparky's. Best burger joint... :drool
If you rode Mines, head down into Livermore, and grab lunch at Demitri's Taverna by the flagpole on First Street. Awesome food, and Demitri loves sportbikes. Be sure to try his Yiayia's baklava!
If you're starting out anywhere near Pleasanton, you gotta hit up Dean's Cafe on Main Street for breakfast... unreal. Best omelettes EVAR.

Totally up for road trip to fortuna, via chico and sierra nevada then 36 the next day and eel river!!! lousy organizer here though, but plenty of time, total slacker lol!!! anybody game?:ride

If you're in Chico, you gotta hit up the Italian Cottage!! :drool

Im at 9 burger right now. I will report back after meal. :)

Boy did you get lucky... or those dumbasses finally figured out how to grill a hamburger... :rolleyes
Worst dining experience I've ever had ANYWHERE. It was so bad, I actually joined Yelp to post a review. Overpriced, showed up raw when I ordered it well done, it went back a total of 3 times before they finally got it right. They couldn't even figure out how to cook french fries... I mean, how can you put french fries on a plate that are limp like cooked spaghetti, and think that's the right way to serve them? :wtf $17 for a meal that was mostly inedible... :thumbdown :barf

That doesn't sound too pleasant. I'm not too excited about trying them out now. :laughing

For what it's worth, it seems some of the Yelp reviews have been edited... someone said the owner contacted them and invited them back, and they had a good experience.
Personally, I've had better burgers at Sparky's, and next time I'm in BC, I'll hit Fosters for a burger, or the local brewery if I want a sit-down meal. At least Foster's has outdoor seating, which is great in BC Spring, Summer and Fall...

Yah I was reading their Yelp reviews. They were okay. Not bad enough for me NOT to try it though. I gotta give my verdict next time I'm out there.

Found another one yesterday. :banana I've been past this place many times, but never stopped. Yesterday we stopped, and it was great! Just south of Jenner on Hwy 1, we sat out on the deck overlooking the Russian River and enjoyed a lovely Indian meal. Sizzling Tandoor is the name of the place, and the lunch specials are good deals. :drool

Cool. I rode by last Sunday and thought about stopping, but pushed on...
