This project was put on hold for 5 weeks while I was in LA for work...but now I'm getting everything finished up in time for the Death Valley nOObs Rally next month! Looking forward to getting my Husky back on the road!
Poor girl has been subject to field maintenance, for too many years. I have two bike dealers in town, for a BIG change. Almost instant new parts gratification, whoopee. New plastics, tone down the bright white, add another 3/4 gallon, bigger tank. I overhauled the steering bearings, before @ 6 K...

Gonna get warm next week, so the stickers are going on to finish her.
This winter's project is the garage the bike would park in.
Poly aspartic floor, new stainless cabinets, plumbed for compressed air stations, three extra outlets, commercial ceiling lights, Edifier speakers, wash basin.
Great thread. Currently the Beta 430 is on the rack. Not sure how long it will stay in the stable, but at the moment it's my bike and I'm doing stuff to it.
Bought it as a project in May 2023, got it running and riding well (all maintenance done) on Aug 2023. Died again in Feb 2024 (carbs clogged) and in one day of Dec 2024 decided to got it running and riding again (carb cleaned and new fuel lines with filters). Sold it this month to get my wife a smaller bike.
Born and raised in CA so Winters are too cold for me to work in the garage so maybe late Winter early Spring projects for me. Last year I removed my heated grips to replace the connectors which were shoddy, all set to go back in. It was warm enough today to take a shake down ride and make a list. Other than the grips I was going to move my voltmeter under the cowling for better visibility during the day and check and bleed the brakes. Unfortunately, on my shake down ride I was only getting about 13v at the battery. It usually hovers around 13.8v and was fine when I parked it so I added the charging system to my list. Good times.
Yes, I think I'll be ready by then. But they never seem to accept my applications. I've done the route once with some other guys on a different occasion.
