The Twin Cities National Weather Service office is forecasting extreme cold Tuesday through Thursday morning, with the coldest conditions expected Wednesday morning with minus 60 to minus 40 wind chills, which can cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as five minutes.

Don’t eat yellow snow.

California born and raised. Worked for a MN company for 31 years. Had to go to MN many times. They always had a January meeting, still think it was done so employees in the warm areas knew what cold was. Rental cars have block heaters and the motels have outlets set up in this weather to use them. :wow This is life threating weather.

I love CA. :teeth

Those a click-bait temps, they're using wind chill temps to trick people, editors suck these days. :thumbdown

Anything under -10 F is going to be cold, but not fatal cold unless you're out in them for more than an hour and you're stupid on what you wear. Just wear layers. Also, get a good hat and something to cover your face, it will make a big difference, most of your lost body temp gets lost through your head.

I personally find -10 to be refreshing, it's nice clean air, but then where I grew up it got down to -35 regularly in the winter (it's currently -32 right now, it will get down to -38 tonight).

I’ve played outside in -4 temps. Hated it. Can’t imagine -60 temps that were reported in Chicago yesterday. Having to layer up in a Michelin Man survival suit to get from a building to the car seems like a major pain in the ass. I have friends in Montana who keep survival suits and kits in their vehicles in case of a winter time breakdown. No thanks.

I can't even imagine what 100 degrees colder than it is here today feels like.

It wasn't -60, that's MSM BS using wind chill numbers as temp numbers.

Because wind chill isn’t a thing? Ok. I’ll call by brother in law back, who lives in Chicago, and tell him Climber, who lives in California, says you’re hallucinating. :thumbup

No. Don't use a windchill number as a temp, it's not valid.

People like to use exaggerations like that to make it seem like they're extremes are bigger than others.

Also, Climber was born 200 miles north of the Canadian border. I've been in temps that your brother will never experience in Chicago. :twofinger

How's it not valid? It's a description of risk in numerical terms?

Much like heat index.

It's designed to inform the population that there is significantly more risk associated with going outside than their lawn thermometer indicates.

I'm ok with cold, I grew up in Michigan and Ohio. But the temps now are insane cold. No I do not want to be a snowman :laughing

Wait, you live in San Jose and you're going to stay in Minnesota instead of commuting??
:twofinger :laughing
