I'm scareoused!
A near death experience last night on my motorcycle got me to thinking... What would I want in my RIP thread?
We've had a lot of arguments about what is appropriate to post when a rider passes away. Perhaps it would be better to ask what we would consider appropriate, if we were that person?
For me:
I would hope the people who knew me would tell the world what kind of a man I was in person, and say something about my values. I hope people would share personal anecdotes, even if they might be a little embarrassing. The more humorous or outrageous the better.
I hope people will analyze the crash that kills me (in a separate thread,) and I hope that everyone can learn something from it. At the same time, please remind anyone who makes a disparaging remark that mistakes are very human, and that we all make them.
A piece of art or poetry commissioned in my honor would be touching.
So, now I'm curious... What would you want in your RIP thread?
