What is V22450A and why is the fine $428.00?

Does that stay on a record anywhere?

Certainly on your DMV record for three years. It also would stand to reason that it would make it onto one's permanent criminal history record since anyone booked into a detention facility (jail) gets fingerprinted, and thus a new entry is created. However, I can't recall ever seeing a traffic infraction on one.

Just so you all know, there is no more: "show up in court and get your fine reduced automatically" deal.

Not true. I was in traffic court in Walnut Creek a few weeks back and the traffic commissioner was lowering fines for everyone as long as they didn't have prior citations for the same thing. Most fines were reduced by about 50%.

I'm sure it varies by courthouse and who's listening, but there were fine reductions aplenty.

So... am i the only one seeing the elephant in the room?

The cop was relying on your brake light to tell him what you were going to do or not do. Since it wasn't working he didn't have that reference. So yeah, not surprised you got pulled over. As for the amount of the fine... consider it an insurance premium.

Which leads me to the ... OTHER ... elephant in the room.

WTF are you doing riding a moto with NO WORKING BRAKE LIGHT?? are you nuts? That's, like, inviting the cagers to ram right into you at every intersection. Get that fixed ASAP, not to keep from getting pulled over, but to keep from getting asspacked by an SUV and killed.
:thumbup I saw so many elephants in the room that I just left the room.:laughing

Yea! I was waiting for people to post up so I could just lazily add +1

Any ticket in SF, and they'll rape your wallet silly. If I'm ever in there, I make sure I don't do anything that leaves my bank account penniless. Watch out for that camera on Sloat and 19th:Bap. Tickets there are higher than anywhere else I know of.

BTW I just say this so I can feel better about living down here in SoCal.

^ I wish that over 100mph one was lower. 880.... ouch

Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time.

Why do people start threads just to whine about tickets they got that they admit they deserved?
