What is your Favorite Chore?

Y’all are nuts!

I would say changing tires on my moto…fresh rubber!

I don’t hate chores at all…except for changing the he sheets on my bed and duvet cover. That I hate.
i hated changing sheets too (the ‘putting new sheets on’ part), until i came across a video of a bed making competition (there actually is such a thing lol). taught me a few techniques - especially regarding duvet covers. i also cheat a little bit. our mattress is heavy as hell, so bought one of those mechanical frames that lifts the head and foot. works awesome for putting the fitted sheet on. never use it for anything other than that - but worth it for that alone. easy peasy.
Washing cars is definitely one of my least favorite tasks. I'd rather pay $30 for a few guys to do a mediocre job than do it myself :laughing
what is this ‘washing cars’ thing you speak of? if it’s dirt removal, that’s what driving fast in the rain is for.

add me to the list of "if you're enjoying it, it's not a chore"

on that note, the chore that sucks the least is cutting up all the cardboard boxes to get them to fit in the recycle bin.

This reminds me that years ago, the boys and my wife were climbing a mountain with about 4,400' of gain to a summit of about 11,400'. It was a very long day; about 20 hours up and back down. Somehow we got to talking about what should be done with our ashes after we croaked. I said I'd like to be sprinkled around at the summit of that mountain.

Youngest boy said, "Is it OK if we just kill you now and leave you here?"

this was your cue to yell THUNDERDOME and attack.

Favorite chore, huh?

That would be the ones I used to do that she would usually have to call a commercial repairman to come out and accomplish. Changing light fixtures, repairing appliances, updating bathroom fixtures . . . . all that stuff she used to pay for.

Big payoff for me.

Please come to my house and take care of the box backlog in my moto trailer. LOL.

When I was a kid and had a lawn, i loved doing it. I would do different patterns sometimes. I would always try to mimic the diamond pattern from the Oakland Colosseum. I also like to drive the tractor and till the dirt/garden and around all the trees.

I still like vacuuming. But the house is so cluttered, it's difficult to do, and that now makes it more triggering than relaxing.

grocery shopping, get to check out the young and attractive people of which I'm neither.

37 tons? jeeeeeeze....

IMO, there’s almost a mental health aspect to chores. there’s so much shit we have no control over. sometimes just doing mindless, constructive tasks that easily accomplish something feels like mental therapy. kinda like one of those mini zen gardens, but with a very practical result. calm from chaos as it were.
Me and my roommates have never had a set assignment of chores.

I found myself do a lot of typical household chores once I started working from home because I'm the one in the house all day and I just do them because some work days are slow. I don't like them but also I don't dislike them.

Usually just put my earphones in and make it a fun dance party. Or just turn the stereo up loud because I'm the only one home.

Mine used to be mowing my lawn, and actually I feel like a Super Hero when I am done and my lawns looks all SEXXY!!! I tell my Wife that she should be careful when walking past my lawn. I say "it's a panty dropper- all of the neighborhood Wimmenz get all worked up when they see my lawn". LOL. Seriously, I am not overly anal about mowing it. I mow it about every 10 days. My neighbor, he is OCD, mows his lawn 2-3 times/week.

My latest favorite chore is going to the laundromat!!! SERIOSLY!!!! I I was really sick and tired of seeing my Wife spend ALL weekend doing laundry (it's just two of us?), but she would spend all weekend doing laundry. Fortunately, I had an issue with my dryer at home, so I used this as an excuse to start going to the laundromat. I am an insomniac, and I go at 4:00AM,. I use 2 or 3 large machines and get it all done by 6:00AM. I'm home in time for us to go on our weekend hikes, with the mutts, at 6:30AM (or whenever the sun comes up).

What about you?
I also go to a laundromat. I can do four loads and be done in 45 min.

I wanna play but I got nothin. Yeah, the mowed lawn feels good when its done but my lawn includes a downslope so its a PIA pushin the mower around it. I sorta like watering because I put in an entire landscaped hill and am proud of it.. Except a fuckin gopher started killing the plants by eating roots…but I got the sucker with my GopherHawk. He pushed a buncha dirt from between my Verdura blocks and spoiled my pristine gravel driveway. I hate gophers. The pic is before he despoilt it.

Mowing the lawn is the best chore I have when I am home. 4 hrs of listening to a podcast and sipping a beer.

Chore, I created that I don’t like.
Used KEURIG cups.
I peel /shuck the foil lid with a knife, use the knife to-spin out the coffee grains into a bowl. Take the bowl to the garden, then spread the coffee grains., worms love it. Usually put it off until I get +25 little cub bastards.

Costco sells compostable Kurig pods with a good trench roast.

Hands down favorite chore is hanging laundry outside with my kitty and all the critters chatting me up in our sweet place. Then folding off the line and done. All the rest feels like unwanted work.
Special evening bonus with wind fresh sheets :banana
