Not bike-related, but...
Replacing the left front CV axle on my Audi A3 VR6 (note: Don't buy an Audi on Craigslist), then discovering 2 weeks later that I had torqued the bolts too tight, when they snapped and the axle spun free wildly, smashing a hole in the transmission housing, dumping all the fluid in about 2 seconds flat and ALSO throwing bits of aluminum housing into the gears, instantly turning the car into...an expensive brick.
Sold the car (basically for scrap) almost 2 years ago, and I JUST finished paying off the loan over the summer...
