What will it take to convince you of climate change?

We are doomed as a species. There is no way we will reverse our course in time, (before terminally affecting the global ecosystem,) barring some major catastrophic event.

That's a hard, cold truth that many will not be able to face. It is a revelation that goes against basic evolutionary thought, that the species will continue to reproduce and find some way to make it. Most will scoff and some will probably get angry or upset at the thought, but that doesn't change reality. I have seen enough anecdotal evidence myself to be personally convinced of this.

All in all, what a magnificent run we've made in terms of science and accomplishment, it's just too bad we have been too shortsighted to realize we were shooting ourselves in the proverbial foot.

I know, Right?

The problem the climate changers have is that all their predictions are based on statistical models and faulty data gathering. I've been in the data gathering and reporting business all my life, so I know what a slippery slope that is. Most of their predictions of doom and gloom are total bullshit. And they have "modified" the data over the years to "correct" errors. Otherwise Obama wouldn't have bought beachfront property, and Al gore wouldn't fly around in a private jet, Right????

Climate changes, no one disputes that. We had the medieval warming period, and the little Ice Age. Not to mention the Global cooling scare of the Seventies. And I suppose one could argue we have been warming up (in general) since the Ice Age 14,000 years ago.
The problem I have is that the scientists, and I use the term very loosely, sitting on their six figure salaries, and seven digit grant money have a vested interest in Climate Change. I totally understand why they can't let go.:rofl

They're trying to measure something in decades that take millennia to unfold and creating a crisis so they can have jobs.

Believe what you want.:x

See what I mean?

As a scientist, I laugh at your complete lack of knowledge about, well anything. Yeah buddy, us scientists are overpaid and living in the lap of luxury. That statement (and you in general) actually deserve a hearty :rofl because it's downright ridiculous. Your lack of knowledge coupled with your "knowledge of how things work" is an indicator of how ignorant and misled our country has become. I feel sad for you. :rofl

and for good measure :rofl.

Jesus fucking Christ. That is just painfully stupid to claim that scientists are getting rich off climate change being a hoax.

Wanna come over and sit in my swimming pool, maybe ride around in my ferrarri, and hook up with my stable of live-in porn stars? That scientist salary yo. Ballin' up here.

It's fun when the people that don't know anything tell the people with the education and experience that they're wrong about things.

And just because they don't want to feel bad about the things they do. For the feelz.

What's hilarious is your total lack of self-awareness of how dumb this all sounds to anyone outside the Trumpie/Breitbart/Alt-Right bubble. I could start by pointing out that the funding for the FUD "research" into the denier's POV comes from the oil and energy industry--NOW we can talk about 6-figure salaries and 7-figure "research" grants.

puh-leeze.

I'm curious to hear what kind of work you do.

I'm pretty sure that if 6 figure scientist exist, they are employed by oil and gas companies to find more oil and gas.

I really can't get over how foolish it is to think most scientist are as baller as hedge fund managers. Completely, utterly, disconnected from reality, foolish.

:laughing

I would not go so far as to support the whole statement, but make no mistake, there is literally BILLIONS in wasteful Government funded pork tied up in the Climate Change economy, especially in the Green Energy sector.

There certainly is a lot of wealth being spread around in an economy based on climate change, ESPECIALLY in California.

And you think that money is going directly to the scientists? Come on.

BZZZZZZZZZT!!!! WRONG-O!!!
https://www.gao.gov/products/GAO-18-223

According to Office of Management and Budget reports, federal climate change funding was $13.2 billion across 19 agencies in 2017. In the 6 agencies we reviewed, we found that 94% of their reported climate change funding went to programs that touch on, but aren’t dedicated to climate change, such as nuclear energy research.

I read that as $790 million a year, not "billions."

And by the way, that "pork" is reaping massive benefits as renewable energy, battery technology and EVs become increasingly more important. Can you say the same for the hundreds of billions we squander on the most bloated military budget in the history of humanity? Or the trillions we'll spend just servicing the debt for that massive spending?

Where's your outrage about that?

Yes, lots of money is spent on both sides. One side wants to continue and increase use of fossil fuels which have empirically been shown to cause harm to our ecosystem; while the other side wants to use renewable energy.

He'll need to provide evidence to support his outlandish claim of "the scientists" pulling six figure salaries to pencil-whip the numbers.
But he won't and instead will demand that we eDuCaTe oUrSeLvEs.

22% of Americans believe some or all of the crazed conspiracy theories of Q-anon are true. Think about that for a minute. 73 million people. Given that fact, Mrmarklin's position seems almost reasonable.

And of course, a Covid denier.

Surprised, right? :laughing

Most of you also believe the Russia Hoax to this day. The MSM also believes it when it says Biden family foreign entanglements are part of it. Russia!!!!!!:rofl

Not sure what a Covid denier is.

And yes, there are plenty on both sides of the spectrum that are making lots of $$$ from climate change. And they'll tweek their computer models to prove it!!:afm199

Ignoring the obvious deflection (good job though you didn't mention Clinton), can you please show any sort of evidence whatsoever to back up your claim? Anything? Even a crazy right-wing conspiracy website? Anything?

How much do you make? Be sure to include benefits, like retirement etc.

What are the sources of funding for your job?
