What's your favorite poverty meal that you still eat regardless of where you are financially?

Prisoners too.

Not so much this fire season. Most have been released or are on "lock down" and are not going out of the camps.

And, it is true, we have one of if not the lowest cost of food vs. income in the world. USA agriculture is a marvel.

Ketchup... Wisconsin's hot sauce. :twofinger

OH Snap! Hot sauce is my jams. I found the gringo bandito black label one to be the best taste, dollar ratio. I also make a pretty darn good hot sauce.

Are you talking Tabasco-trash-vinegar sauce or a real hot sauce?

Well, this is a Poverty Food thread, so beggars can't be choosers. I used the have handfuls of Fire Sauce packets from Taco Bell I would use. Back before they had Diablo sauce, lol. Taco Bell was cheap and you could grab way more hot sauce than you needed for those cheap tacos when you were there.

Tabasco is probably my least favorite of the Mexican 3 though. I prefer Tapatio or Cholula.

I might splash crystal on it, but I find most everything else would overpower the more delicate flavors.

Note to self: I need a new bottle of Crystal.

Delicate flavors of the Ketchup? :bigbarf I do not believe in Ketchup. I put Hot Sauce on everything though. Mostly Sriracha, but I have some Tapatio and El Yucataco Green Sauce in there too. I buy Crystal when I am making Southern food like ribs or jambalaya, but I'm out right now.

Cholula or GTFO. :twofinger

I never mentioned ketchup.

The delicate flavors I was talking about was the near toe-curling delight of a perfectly cooked yolk on a piece of toast.

Damn near nothing can improve that flavor/texture combo. Maybe a tiny bit of black pepper.
