Seriously! I'll take anybody that wants lessons out for a full day for $200. Guarantee you'll be able to pick the wheel up by the end of the day, if not you get your money back.

Of course I'm not responsible if you end up looking like this

- Learn how to gradually roll on power after lifting the front. No need to do some BTB 12'0 clocks (yet!) ;) Just nice and easy throttle to ride her out a little.
.

That's my biggest problem. Too hard, too fast. Makes for short wheelies with hard landings:(

Learnin throttle control on my 50 and my 80. Then I'll work it into my 600.

My method is 2nd gear about 6krpms then off on. Comes right up. I plan to perfect sit-downs first then try stand ups. I stood up one time and it is very scary the first time.

What about body positioning? Do you lift up on the handlebars at all? And how fast do you shut it off then get back on the gas?

I would have no prob letting you use my bike but I doubt it would do much good. Right now my gearing is 1 down 10 up. Everyone that rides my bike get's the shit scared out of them. I guess it might be alright if you just start out in 2nd gear. Hmmmmmmmm

Gee, thanks for telling me this now. And I had hope too. I have stock gearing..:twofinger
Stock gearing on an R1 you should be able to bounce up standups in 3rd. Second gear is nothing on an R1, stock gearing or not.

Ok he says to open the throttle on first and when it's about two feet in the air, change it to second. When you shift, do you shift like normal?

To shift a wheelie you do it just like you would shift riding normal with no clutch, blip the throttle and bang it up. Also on your R1 in second gear, you should be able to get it up on just the throttle with some practice. The same way everyone has talked about through out this post about 1st gear.

Thanks Port, but i guess i'll continue to practice on my gix, just scares :wow the shit out of me when i wot it and the front pops right up in 1st gear. I been practicing for the last three weeks and I can hardly keep the front up for more than a couple of secs. I guess i just have to find that POB and better control of the throttle. i have stock gearing and do not really want to change it. I have enough power to bring it up in 1,2, and 3rd. Wouldn't mind if we can hook up sometime and show some ropes and see how i am doing so far. I do not think i met you before but sooner or later i will.

I agree with port 4mance...i gots a gixxer 6 and its easiest off the line but you can do it in first anytime if you just clutch that baby. just gradually work up to it don't loop that baby.

It would be more fun to leave your bike out as bait like those UK crime busters do and then... :devil ;) :)

OK, so I can figure out how to ride wheelies!.....:teeth
My problem is that I don't know where I can practice them without getting busted by "The Man.":

Anybody got any ideas for me :nerd
