And why would a chippy even care if people know where our spots are. It is not like it is a secret where we park. We sit on the side of the road in full view of everyone. Some officers like different spots more than others so there is no accurate map.

as oblivious as a lot of people are, do they really NEED to hide?

realistically, watch the under/overpasses, especially watch speed on long hills, and just over the crest at the top....the places they'll often park are pretty predictable. take it easy the first few days and just look for the spots.

it should go without saying that you should probably be pretty careful about watching your speed, given the restrictions you're under for the commercial license.

if you lose your b endorsement, you didnt deserve it. 1 less idiot trucker to swallow me with their trailer.

u other riders on here need to respond with some actual info or not at all, just b/c u have a keyboard doesnt mean u have to use it. got anything better to do then throw in your irrelevant 2 cents?

Don't get cocky.

Tangentially related: Thank you to the Santa Clara Moto Officer today who didn't pull me over. I may have accidentally lifted the front wheel under heavy acceleration as he was hiding in the bushes with his RADAR gun aimed my way. That would've been a massively unpleasant ticket.

:rofl
That's excellent. I thank the SantaClara moto LEO as well.

you know i dunst know too much on 80 but wow WOODSIDE ROAD... they're everywhere.

On that stretch of road between 280 and 101 i saw 4 cops up and down that street. must've been a special day.

Oh, i also got my first ticket on that street too.

I drive a commercial vehicle drastically different than I do my bike, naturally. Are you gonna drive a 400lb bike the same way you'd drive a 40,000lb commercial vehicle?

Class A here. Everything you use when driving a truck is directly applicable to a bike. Situational awareness and predicting driver behavior are critical to both truck and bike. Spotting cops is the same.

Basically, it works like this: drive commercial and be an stupid you lose your license and job. Do the same on a bike, the consequences are more severe.

Your question seems to be "where is it not okay to act stupid".

To answer the OPs question about carpool and bikes. You can read 21655.5 but to save you time, motorcycles can ride in the carpool lane as long as they are not specifically prohibited. By the way I don't know of any carpool lanes at least in the bay area that prohibit motorcycles.

cool thanks man for giving me and who ever else some relevant info unlike a lot of the douche bag morons on this site replying to every thread with idiotic comments b/c they got nothing better to do in life

"drive commercial and be an stupid" MAYBE YOU SHOULD PROOF READ BEFORE YOU HIT SUBMIT BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR LAME ATTEMPT AT SOUNDING LIKE YOU HAVE SOMETHING INTELLIGENT TO SAY

thanks for stating the obvious genius, are you this condescending in every day life or just in front of a computer screen? you're a moron if you think driving a truck is the same as driving a bike; we can get killed on our bikes so how is that the same? ITS NOT

Jesus H Christ, Go away newb.

A word of advice, don't come into someone's living room and start telling them how to act. You asked a stupid question. One of the dumbest ones out there. Your question was akin to asking where the good oxygen is to breathe. Expect smart ass answers for two reasons:
1. This is BARF. Get used to it or GO AWAY.
2. Your question was fucking stupid.

Did anybody bother to say: :newbie ?

My goal when riding on any freeways is to go at a speed where I won't get noticed even when I pass CHP officers. It's hard sometimes, but I pass them regularly and haven't been pulled over for a long, long time. Based on where I've seen them during my last five months of commuting, they can be anywhere along the freeway, so you need to expect them everywhere.

Ride safely.

you guys are funny.
graf08, read the term of service please. Insulting peeps is agains the rules you have agreed to.
