... besides the Freaking DMV?

GOT A FUCKING $100 FIXIT TICKET IN SAN FRANCISCO :mad:rant

For not having a FRONT PLATE!!!

I HATE METER MAIDS!

A meter maid can issue that? See? This is exactly why I fucking HATE big cities like SF. They're so revenue hungry they'd sell the organs of their homeless to the black market (jesus, that sounds like a great idea). Fuck that shit.

for a plate ,,, you have to go to DMV .

It's fucking brutal, dude!

All because I was 5 minutes late putting quarters in the fucking meter!

Don't feel bad, JMack; I got a ticket left on my windshield one day for no front plate on my MR2. Hmm, that's odd...I walked to the front of the car and looked down, and there was the plate, exactly where it had been since 1987. I flagged down a DPT person and made them look at my plate (very obvious it had been on the car since forever) and the ticket that was stamped 20 minutes prior. No good. Talked to a cop and showed him the same thing. "Yup, better git on down the courthouse and let `em all know" was his response. I fought those bastiges for 6 months and the final verdict was "The reasons stated in this court today do not excuse the infraction." I damn near ended up in jail that day...I just could not believe it.

fight it!

simply state you had no idea the front plate was gone. you had it on there *yesturday*, but it's magically gone today? SOMEONE STOLE IT!

No, you're not. This is a nice example of why attorneys aren't the biggest POS in the world. I'm not saying get an attorney because that's just good money after bad. But if it were me and I had a few bucks, I'd fight it as far as it took because law enforcement gets a pass at every turn because they're the boys in blue and what they say must be true. Fuck that! I'm a rare example of someone who is getting more liberal with each passing year.

The system counts on the fact that you'll just hand over the C Note (a tax really) because they know it will cost you a grand to fight it and you don't get a prize in your "I beat the system" Cracker Jack box.

Just go to AAA and get a new set of plates. If you go to AAA office in fremont next to the Newpark mall, they issue them on the spot, you will have to turn in your old plate. if I remember correctly it only costed me 10-20 bucks. you are required by law to have a plate on the front and rear of a vehicle. Don't waste time fighting it court, the judge will just say what I previously stated, you'll burn a day of your time, some gas, and just piss yourself off. It's not like there saying you hollywood stopped when you didn't and it's questionable, the law is cut and dry. Get the plate on front and be done with it, save yourself some drama. my :2cents
