Where to eat in pismo beach?

+1 for Mcklintocks for stead, way more food than you can eat, you got to share it.

I'm guessing many suggesting McLintock's Shell Beach might be resting on the restaurants laurels from over a decade ago. The place is shit in comparison to what it once was years ago. $36 for a 1" thick Rib Eye that is marginal at best. I miss the days of the good McLintocks but it's shit now. Not worth the money they want for a meal.

Jocko's is where you go if want good beef.

I'd second Giuseppe's in Pismo, it was a weekly stop for us for years but economy and Joe's desire to be a SLO snob when he opened #2 up there has changed that place, too. Food is very good but he broke his own rule from when he started and that was portion. You don't get near what you used to. It's IS good, though. As a visitor, I'd likely be happy. That's the problem with living in what used to be paradise for over 30 years. We knew what it was like before it went to shit.

AJ Spurs is good but just another spin-off of the McLintock's SB. It was one of there cooks/mgrs that started it up years ago. Very similar theme and menu. Probably better, nowadays.

On the beach

With a sandwich

:x :rofl

Alright, McLintocks in shell beach might be the one. But if our stomachs can take it, Jacko's for lunch on the way home. Just to say we've been there. Thanks for all the recommendations people, much appreciated.

Thanks all. Jacko's won out, and boy was it good.

So glad to see you didn't bother with McLintocks. It wouldn't have been half as good and would have cost you more. :thumbup

Oh, and for the record AGAIN....it's JOCKO'S Dammit! :twofinger

My bad, I must never mispronounce this great establishment again. JOCKO'S was amazing....could not finish the large spencer, but loved every sec of trying.

:laughing

Back in the old days, I used to take my crew there for lunch. The ambiance was absolutely no different, nothing has changed, except that when you walked in to either side of the joint to eat, you had to stoop down to keep your head below the inversion layer of cigarette smoke. That place was always full of drinking and smoking beef eaters. Most of the regulars from that time are all dead from some kind of cardio/pulmonary disease. :laughing Shit's the best! :thumbup
