where to practice wheelies

that was all 1st.... i know i know i suck.

thats actually all i'm workin with right now is just 1st gear.. no matter how hard i try to clutch in 2nd it budges a bit but doesnt hop high enough. and stand ups i just dont feel comfortable yet.. i'm still working on them though

the video is almost 2 months old..i bring it up from a slower speed in 1st to a higher height and try to play with the rear brake

ya, mine is the same way, hard to get up in second. on the other hand i guess i am suppose to be going faster, like third gear faster then dropping it in 2nd and popping the clutch. just too scared it's gonna take off out from under me so i have been trying to shift into 2nd without pulling the clutch.

yea shifting in a wheelie is not something i wanna be doing LOL i've seen it done before on videos and clips online.. but i dont wanna try it.

i'm goin -1 in the front and +2 in the rear soon so 2nd gear should be easier to get up after that. i know i've hit BP before but i hesistate to keep it there. but recently i've been riding out the floaty feeling for longer and longer and longer.. it just takes practice and getting used 2. it took me a WHILE to get over the fear of the bike even coming up.

nice bro! now if i only knew of a place i could go and practice.

o, ok. sounds good, i'll have to hit you up next week when i am off, like weds usually.

yeah i just power up in 1st and im starting to shift into 2nd now which super fun...always cover the rear but havent been playing with it to go slower and keep the wheel up...wont be able to practice this weekend with the rain, but thats something I want to work on.

Haha those are cute little wheelies.

i found a spot down here in Santa Cruz with a 1/2 mile long straight. now i am needing a longer road.

snap it up with the clutch and shift in between revs keeping it up. dont use the clutch to shift (sorry bike). my R1 will go up to 100 in 1st so i dont need to shift.

where exactly in Santa Cruz? Just curious as I went to college there. My friend lives there now and he's a newb with wheelies too...

btw. MON i finally gert my plastics back. Imma put the bike back together and itll look really sawcy. Ill take some pics

yah when i had my tl, and my friend had a r1 he would try wheelies on the freeway in 1st gear!!

a nice empty business lot....

:teeth

can't do that anymore, though it mainly applies to stunting.. they changed the laws as of jan 1st last year.

...if you have permission of the business and you close the lot off.. you can.... can't be anywhere were regular traffic can be... has to be truly private access.

try some of the more rural farm areas like up north or in the central valleys.. there are lots of roads that have excellent visibility and are long and straight.. and as well have soft landing spots on the side in the dirt when, not if, things go wrong.

I got a Ticket

the law is that a wheelie is unsafe at any speed so the ticket is whatever speed you were doing the wheelie. I was going like 60 but he wrote the ticket for 30 because he was cool. So it turned out to be 30 mph over the limit = $177 not too bad......

i fought it becuase he was in an unmarked car and won.

I jus moved here does anyone stunt fiddys? i get so tired of stuntin my fiddy by myself? i get a 636 stunt bike but a blown out knee is keepin me from ridin it...jus tryin to stunt fiddys in santa cruz/watsonville/san bruno area even.

stunting anything below 200 is justr a joke...
