The music store that I teach at has between 50-100 wooden shipping pallets in their warehouse that they want to get rid of. Does anyone know of a company or warehouse that would want them? Some of them are in excellent condition, some are in poor condition. Most of them are in good condition. Any help would be appreciated.

list it under the free section of CL.it'll go quick.....

One of my buddies would probably take a few for his firepit in his backyard or something, I'll let him know. No way he'd take all of them though probably just 2 or 3 at the most lol.

Dude, don't give them away. There's places that buy them for $5-$10 a piece. When I worked at Wal-Mart we used to have people sneak out back and steal them all the time.

Hwy 99 near Modesto looks like a place that collects them. Huge piles of pallets seen from the freeway.

Heh some of the wood is actually pretty nice Oak. Its grade 3 lumber and means allot of knotholes. It'd make some nice knotty oak furniture. White Oak is good exterior wood, using selected pieces would make interesting outdoor deck.

Second the idea of selling them. Palettes can be used multiple times.

Yeah, those have long been a staple target of tweeker thieves. There are places that will pay you for them.

This is true, I used to be a truck driver and every time my route took me to Merced I would pass that place. I believe the lot is just south of Modesto. There may even be a place more locally willing to purchase them. Either way, there are businesses that are more than willing to purchase used pallets. $$$

the trick is to have a signs that say "free" on top of the pile you are "giving away".

Thanks for the responses everyone. some of the pallets are not worth selling, as they've been in the warehouse or the courtyard in the weather for over a year. Most of them are in good condition though, so I wouldnt mind selling them. I did a google search and didnt find anyone local though. I'm not against giving away the ones in bad shape if anyone wants them. Least ways, if you hear of a place closer than Modesto that purchases these things, please let me know.

Missing out on a great opportunity if you just give them away....
