Guys,

What ramp do you use to load your bikes into a truck bed or cargo van? I have a sprinter van and i'm looking to buy a ramp so that i can walk the bike into the van (not ride :rolleyes). Any suggestions or links would be good.

Thanks.

you don't need that huge folding mess. Just by 2 ramps. Walk up one, bike on the other. easy peasy.

I ought to pick up a folding ramp so that I can easily get a bike into my truck. Without one I still managed to get my 'tard out but no way could I get a streetbike out. I wonder what I can find that I can fold and keep behind the seat (so it's secure).

I use a Ready Ramp Bed Extender + a 2nd folding ramp to walk up.

Buy another one means you'll have 2 ramps that are junk. Trust me on this. First time you run up the bike on the ramp and it flexes like a cheap noodle, you'll wish you had some oxlites. For the 2 ramp setup, you'll need a running start to load up the bikes. I don't trust cheap ramps.

Also cheaper ramps will have far less trellises, which means harder to roll up and more room for errors for your feet to get caught. All these years of track riding has taught me 4 things not to skimp on.

1. Rear stands
2. Chocks
3. Ramps
4. Fuel jugs

I don't like that ramp. I load a lot (A LOT) of bikes into the back of a Sprinter 3500 or a Dodge Ram 1500.

My favorite ramp so far is the heavy duty trackside folder. I think it's rated at 750lbs or something like that. I use a shorter stiff ramp to walk the bike up into the pick up. For the Sprinter I just use a step stool.

I use a rig that we have a pending patent on that uses a remote controlled wince to winch the bikes up and down out of the truck. I'm 5'2" and can load anything into either truck by myself.

I have a ready ramp bed extender that has treated me pretty well. It has loaded everything from 200 pound dirtbikes to a 500 pound gs. Another ramp would be nice to have to walk along side of it but I'm tall enough, I can get away without it.

I use this one for the dirt bike. This is rated for 750lbs. Well built.

I had one that was rated for 500lbs. I use that to walk up while the other one is for the bike.

Having the 750lb rating helps if I need to use it for my street bike or help a stranded biker.

So, did you buy 2 of those. How do you walk the bike up the ramp? Use a dirt bike stand to step up? I'm a really short guy (around 5'10)

We are close in height but I usually have another person helping when loading since theres always 2 of us when we go to the track. I will start the bike and get it up 75% of the way walking next to it then hit the kill switch and then it being in gear keeps it from rolling back and then my friend or wife will be in the back of the truck to take hold once up then i push it up the rest of the way. Its actually fast when we do it and a good thing is having a D-ring in the middle of the truck when strapping 2 bikes in.
