Dr. Evil
Mother of God.
I can't stand their visual style, but I've never been anything but impressed with Icon's engineering. I had the Squad 2 backpack for a while, and it was absolutely the most solid moto backpack I'd ever seen.
So is that it then? Am I wearing a scarlet "I" in the eyes of the other riders on the road when I rock this thing? As if my squidish parking through twisties wasn't eyeroll-worthy enough.:|
So being one month new into motorcycling and, subsequently, this forum... i've been noticing a fair amount of mockery toward the brand. ... plus I wasn't aware of the squid stigma that was attached to the brand during my online shopping spree(s)

I guess I really don't care all that much... the jacket is comfortable, functional and stylish imo. But it would be interesting to know what the current consensus is toward Icon jacket quality today...

Originally, IMHO, I think their quality wasn't really there. It was all about the look. Nowadays, I hear they're making a good product, which is a good thing in my book.
But I still wouldn't wear any piece of clothing that had some damned brand name emblazoned ½ way across it.![]()
ICON is totally cool dude. You should get one of their awesome helmets to go with your jacket.

meh - it's not my main jacket anyway... got it for those extra hot days. it's the only icon piece I own.
ICON made the best pair of gloves I've ever owned or even SEEN. After multiple years and crashes in them, they're finally worn out and no longer in production and I just don't know what the hell to get anymore. EVERY other glove I've tried just seems flimsy and weak.
I have a couple of Icon jackets (Overlord Prime and Contra). Good quality, very comfortable, no issues so far. Both have the little medallion, too.
I bought a pair of their Superduty 4 boots when I first got into riding. They started falling apart 3 months in. Won't be buying a pair of their shoes/boots again.
So... Some good stuff, some crap stuff. And one knows the good from the bad... how?
