I just had the best coffee with the best hot chicks ever in a non-Starbucks coffee-shop in "The City", AKA San Francisco. So... that's why there's no need for Starbucks. 
Referring to "Starbucks" simply means you live in Suburbia, where the only coffee-shop is Starbucks... so in that regard, Starbucks is actually good since at least it brought coffee to the people. Before that you probably had to look for the only one mom-and-pop donut shop within 15 miles to get coffee.
So.. sure, no problem, I never get coffee at *$$ basically. Besides their drinks have long been over the top--can't I just order "coffee", but I have to say "Frattucchino" or something?

Pretty much. I had only heard of Starbucks until I moved to southern California. You can't throw a rock down there without hitting one.
Thank goodness I am back in the bay. I missed Peet's coffee, and not having to drive someplace just to get a cup. Or do anything for that matter.

i voted no since my friend, before every ride we do, has to have his Starbucks, then hits the twisties/cruise/whatever the hell we would ride to....

man....ofcourse, 42 is the numerator and it's the denomonator...heck, it's the very ANSWER to life itself, the universe and everything.
PROS:
1)scarfucks has reliable coffee. any one of the stores you go to you know what to expect and will get exactly that. decent coffee. every cup tastes the same from california to seattle.
2)there's always plenty of people at most starbucks if you're the social type.
this comes down to reliability in thier product and thier type of clientele. you always know what to expect. and for alot of people that's a good thing.
CONS:
1)thier business practices are awfull. they set up shop (all too often) in the exact vicinity where they can pull costomers from the already established independant businesses (whether or not thier product is better or if its all just advertising and brand name affiliation is seperate argument).
2)they are part of the whole corporate business model that puts independant 'mom and pop' shops out of business, dont pay enough to thier employees, etc. besides...corporations are evil.
3)corporations are evil (dammit!! i ride a bike built by a corporation...shit!)
THE ULTIMATE TRUTH:
*we are who we are whether influenced by commercialism or not. we choose to give $ to the businesses we do because they offer something we want(for better or worse)
bottom line is that we all choose to hang out and spend money where seem to get what we are looking for. sometimes its a dillusion...sometimes its not.
the real power is in the individual and thier power of choice!
and...corporate motorcyle manufacturers make fucking AWESOME machines and I for one love them! (but they dont set up shop next to the little guys and steel thier business do they?)
but yeah...i think anyome who frequents Scarfucks is a loser/poser corporate whore. but...im but one opinion out of billions.

I gota say BS. This is why I don’t like them any more. I ask for one thing and get three different things three different times. I blame the minimum wage employees they got and I think they are the McD’s of coffee shops. I got a great mom pop shop to go to just bout 5 miles from lake Rd.
