I just posted in the Johnson Leather thread as well. I had a great experience getting a custom jacket made. It was a bit more expensive than buying off the rack (but not THAT much more than top of the line Dainese) and I got exactly what I wanted. It's also got Forcefield armor in it, so the protection is great. The only downside is my jacket is really heavy, but that's partially because it's a mid-length jacket.

i'm fairly small and not stacked, but have found that everything off the rack squishes me, especially anything italian - which seems odd given the reputation of italian women lol. other than custom, revit is the best fit i've found.

I took the easiest, most safe approach to this I could think of and it worked great. Here was my method:
1) Call (your favorite store) make sure female salespeople were on hand.
2) Put girlfriend on back of bike.
3) Ride to (your favorite store).
4) Give girlfriend to female salespeople.
5) Hand charge card to cashier.

Repeat this method with different shops as needed. Smile a lot. Be helpful and informative like this: "Honey, I don't think they make ANY textile pants that make your booty look good. It's just part of the deal. Besides your safety is my biggest concern. I KNOW what's really under there and I'm good with that."

If it helps you get by, purchase a nice set of gloves for yourself while you are there. Remember; this is the easiest way. It took me 44 years to figure this out I hope it helps. I have been a MUCH happier man with this method.

Sounds like I am similar in shape and size to your lady - for sizing, I'm 5'4" with a short torso and long legs, am not porn-star stacked but have a respectable amount up top, and am "normal" weight. I wear a 42 in both Dainese and Alpinestars. In Rev'it, I am a 38.

Rev'it doesn't fit me well in the shoulders, so I don't tend to like their jackets, though their gear is really well made.

I have Dainese two-piece leathers that I wear most of the time - the Pelle Cage jacket, specifically. It fits well in arms, shoulders, torso, and has enough room for my chest.

I have an Alpinestars mesh jacket as well as a A*s leather one-piece, and while they fit very well in all other important areas they definitely squish my chest uncomfortably, especially the one-piece. It is kind of like wearing a sports bra.

What it comes down to, probably, is she'll just have to try a bunch of stuff on, which is tough because many shops (especially CycleGear!) do not stock much women's gear. Scuderia West and the D-Store in San Francisco, and Road Rider in San Jose are your best bets.

You are pretty spot on besides this quote. There ARE pants that can do a booty good but you might not find them locally. It takes a LOT of time and patience since all bootys are different, but I wouldn't go frumpy because the local shops don't carry a lot of options.

Also: I might not be much help because I like my jackets and gear tighter. I don't like it to shift, I like it to be part of me, move with me and the armour secure. It makes ME feel secure to have things tucked in, but it shouldn't be corset training tight. So I'd never buy a moto jacket like I'd buy a street jacket or I'd have to go many sizes up.

I wear my Dainese Pelle Cage jacket like ROL almost exclusively (except for hot days like today and I'm sporting my Dainese Shotgun jacket I got off the clearance rack in SF.

Scorpion makes some really nice fitting textile pants:

I'm a pretty classic Italian shape (with proportional bust) and Dainese fits me like a glove off the rack. For more shapely women, try RevIt. There's a ton at Scuderia West in SF and you can also swing by the D-Store (Shellie will help you out, she's been at this for a decade) while you're there.

Otherwise, ping Joanne (GearChic) or check out her website. www.gearchic.com

She's a girl - TRY STUFF ON! It's what we love to do anyway. :)

I'm small with a large chest. The only jacket I found that fits well is an OLympia Women's Airglide. The shoulders are narrow enough for my small frame but there is room for my ample parts ;) the waist cinches so getting it snug is doable.

The matching pants, although long, have 8" at the bottom that will not interfere with zippers or liners if the pants need to be hemmed.

Well, we went down to Scuderia today and found a jacket that fit her very well!
Dainese and Rev'it both had good option but just werent right. She ended up finding a jacket by alpinestar that fit almost perfect (as possible with her shape)

so anyways, thanks for all the help and info.
