Wow, Stand up Electric Quad Runners

That was going to be my suggestion

I love me a small four-wheel drive Kubota with the auto range transmission

Tractors ARE tippy and dangerous on side hills though

yeah - we’re thinking about getting one of these for the super steep sections (mostly just weeds and wild grasses). it would be easy to run it more often, before the veg gets really high. plus, i love the idea that if it rolls, it’s unmanned.

for those areas that are hard to maintain then year long roundup works for me. would probably work even better in CA as there is less rain to wash it out. year long sprays here last maybe 6 months. Which reminds me its time to get a new battery for the ATV so I can put the 20 gallon sprayer on it and get the yard under control for spring/summer. Now to just wait for a day where its not so breezy.

Beats hell out of what I used to use on the hill !

some around here use pre-emergents. spraying live / grown veg doesn’t really help with fire abatement. also doesn’t help with the duff (we usually have 6-8” of that by the end of fall). that said, we don’t use any chemicals. am too worried about possible impact to the trees. maybe an unfounded fear, but i’m like a momma grizzly when it comes to the trees. zero risk taken.

could go either way - handy tool, or ridiculous toy. they have a 30 day money back deal, so we kinda figure what the hell. if it works as advertised, it will solve the biggest challenge we have that a quad won’t solve, so we can go back to that for the remainder. and probably cut the total equipment cost by around 30-40% for the pair. worth a shot.

Yeah have to be careful around trees. Can't use the year long anywhere over the root system or it will uptake it and damage the tree. I use regular roundup around my cypress because that will not uptake through the roots and it won't harm the trees unless I use a surfactant and hit the leaves but don't do either around those trees.

Did a lot of research when I had a cattail infestation in my pond so probably know more than I want to about weed killers and how to get it to effect different plant species.

I have been using the living hell out of this thing I got in April.
I almost feel bad for what I've done to it, working and wheeling the hell out of it on the property.
6.5' dump bed !
Pics are when I got it (used) it is beat up now

Gonna need new tires in the which means bigger tires, a lift, bigger rims and maybe new clutching...$$

I am still also eyeing a quad, for running around...

I didn't even know this thing existed until I was driving by Tom's Snowmobiles and saw it out front and thought 'omg, that is PERFECT for what I need"
Hauling brush, branches, rounds, towing chipper and splitter, accessing trails with materials and equipment...
4x4, ac and heat, lightweight, pretty small, but damn are they $$$, even used.

Yeah, in the end you realize: I shoulda got a small, used 4x4 truck....

Oh believe me when I saw the price tag for this I thought of the Tacoma I could get for that money.
But what this has going for is the lightweight aspect that can drive across a couple of spots that would be nogo for a pickup

yeah, 4x4 trucks are great - couldn’t get around in winter without one. but they don’t work on our property either. we have a dirt road coming up our big hill out back, and even the loggers won’t bring their 4x4’s up it. we looked at 4x4 tractors, and came close to that, but still too risky for a rollover, so we went wider and lower. we already bought a 4x4 remote controlled brush muncher (ridiculously awesome machine). the quad will be for hauling wood down to the chipper. that should do most of what we need. will hire out the rest.

My daughter and her fiance just got a Can-Am SxS for a ridicously low payment with 0% interest. They are mostly just using it to tool around the roads around my house as they are storing it in my workshop until they build their house which should hopefully be soon as they are looking to buy property right after they get married in November. Waiting for him to start decking it out with all the goodies but first things they got were the front windshield and roof as it was way cheaper to get aftermarket versus what the dealer wanted for the same stuff.
