Finally got around to transferring this off VHS (don't laugh) on to my computer. This was recorded off Speed, both races, including the podium interviews. I've got a couple of versions of the file. The 5.35 GB MPG is raw recording, with commercials, watchable on a computer if you don't have a very large hi res monitor. The 553 MB MP4 has all the commercials edited out and sucks on the computer, but looks good enough on your smart phone and makes that long ride on BART pass quickly. If someone will suggest a file hosting site, I'll upload it there.

PS. If someone has a RU code they can throw my way, I won't object, but it's not a requirement.

You can find the full races in multiple 10-minute parts in YouTube, if you just search for "2002 WSBK Imola."

The first rule of RU is, we do not talk about RU.
Yes, I'm well familiar with all the RU cloak and dagger BS :rolleyes but if you don't ask, you don't get.

Post it! I still think that was the greatest race ever.
I would if I knew where I could upload large files.

That's true. You can get a full lifetime of viewing entertainment from YT...10 minutes at a time. Have fun with that.

I have both races on VHS and DVD (copied)
Truly a classic weekend for sure. Especially when Troy looses his cool after crashing it. Rare for him to do that.....

Yeah, he threw away the championship with that crash, but I have never seen footage it, I wonder how he binned it? The 02 Imola Bayliss/Edwards race was regarded as one of the best if not the best in WSBK history, add that the whole season came down to the last. That whole early 2000s WSBK racing was exciting, the drama was right up there, what could have happened that didn't and how one race or a stroke of bad luck made such a difference. Even Frankie Chili had a chance, if he could only stop crashing or get out of the way of Ruben Xaus. Or the horrible fate of Regis Laconi in 04, when the overrated Toseland took the championship. Speaking of WSBK I went for a ride today with a buddy who owns a 998 Bostrom and we talked about Bostrom and the fact Ben was at his peak in WSBK in 01, winning an incredible five races in a row, then he went south. Something must have happened in his life, maybe he had some personal issues that kept him from winning a WSBK championship for Ducati, he had the talent and the bike to do it. Ben had some down years afterwards, but good for him he overcame whatever it was.

I'm so stoked I'll have to watch it again to recall what happened. But I remember he was under serious pressure from Edwards who, having not won much at the begining of the season, was on the move.
Although Bayliss won fourteen of the first seventeen races, Edwards kept the pressure on with two wins, ten seconds, four thirds and a fourth. The second race at Laguna Seca was the turning point, as his third win was the first of nine consecutive visits to the top step. With Bayliss slipping up at Assen.
