Spies isn't coming back to MA or WSBK. The euro press loves to run wild with speculation.

Spies on Twitter today:

@BenSpies11

I have zero intentions to race for titles anymore but a endurance race here and there are totally possible. Let’s see what happens

He's playing coy. With his injury history, every race is an endurance. It will be a MotoGP return at Assen in honor of his only win!

Actually, some of the best pugilistic displays of technique and talent are in those particular divisions... they land the punches, just more and faster.
My hero for the rest of forever.

Best wishes to young Michael van der Mark.

Bautista is still a great rider on the best bike so I still wouldn't be surprised if he snaps right back to his dominating, mistake-free forum from earlier in the season. Don't know the last time Bautista raced at Donington so that will be an important weekend for him. If it, rains, all bets are off.

The Misano weekend really delivered: big change in WSBK points; some fresh faces on the WSBK podium, an elbows-out brawl in Supersport; and Currasco's big SSP300 win. Could have done without van der Mark's crash and injuries. This weekend and the next two races would be a lot better with MvdM60 on the grid. Hard to pick a highlight. I was impressed with Cortese's tenacity to hold the clutch lever in during long slide into the gravel but Rea never letting go of the bike while it rolled over him and then popping right back up and recovering to finish fifth was a mean feat. Razgatlioglu's race 2 was real break out ride.

This is shaping up to be one of those classic season long WorldSBK battles

Russell-Fogarty

Kocinski-Fogarty

Bayliss-Edwards

Race 2 ... What a race !
Except, we are back to Rea, Rea, REA. Instead of BAUTISTA, Bautista, Bautista :x
Is AB on the brink of throwing a championship away?
Maybe. If he wasn't on the faux MotoGP bike, he might already have been beaten.
Needs more insults and shit talking... :laughing
I'd settle for some Colin humor. I wish he didn't have so much money. It would be great to have him do color commentary somewhere. How about he gets Simon's job in the MotoGP pits. Oh, that would be two-step sweet. :teeth

All this good racing and y’all be speculating on Spies?:cool
Admittedly I had very basic cable until he went to WSBK and I ponied up to watch him dominate.

Check out the WERA BBS. They have a two page thread on Misano race and another thread that is nine pages (so far) about Spies rumors. :laughing

This just shows that fans' attachment to personalities in the sport is the most important thing. No matter how interesting the tech might be, people get invested because of love or hate for particular racers. Its why we need stars and rivalries for a racing series to be successful.

Did you all watched WorldSSP race ?

30+ bikes were on the grid ... so many fights between the Bardahl guys !

Yeah, that last lap was great. And having Lucas Mahias finally back on podium pace is going to make the rest of the season even better.

Long interview with Ben Spies in OnTrack/OffRoad this week. He doesn't talk about the future or MotoAmerica just reflects on his time in AMA/WSBK/MotoGP. He talks about the level he was riding at, the competition, the bikes and there is the usual discussion about Americans going to race in the World Championships.

Worth a read to see whats in his head. Starts on page 104

(Spoiler: He's a lot more like Mladin than you thought.)

There is also an interesting article in which Cal Crutchlow's crew chief talks about the logistics of ordering, managing parts for a GP team.
