Is East St. Louis really so small that the chief of police responds to vehicle theft calls?

Everyone else quit. Just kidding, it's under 30k, doesn't feel all that different (but considerably more ghetto) than, say, Clinton, IA. (Another town I lived in about that size.)

You ever been to ESL?

No. But being a suburb of St. Louis you'd think it couldn't be TOO small. And 30k isn't very small: there's towns here in the Salinas Valley smaller than that with police departments who's chiefs don't respond to that kind of call. Only place around here I can think of is Del Rey Oaks, and I think they might be under 2k.

Suburb of St. Louis?

It's across the river.

Different world, that.

And it sounds like you have money in the Salinas Valley, in towns larger than that in IL, lots of people have to wait for the Sheriff drive out. And sometimes, you get him, not a deputy.

Yeah, people from the suburbs of St. Louis try not to go downtown, let alone across the river. At least, if you grew up in west county.

Also, St. Louis ain't what it used to be:

I'm more curious how you become a cop and eventually chief of police with two prior felony convictions. I realize they were expunged, but really?

Just goes to show...you can take the cop out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of the cop

Not to Cop Bash here, but I thought Rel defended LEO's 'all the time'.

Yeah, I've said it before... if it's a bad cop, the cop needs to be removed from the ranks asap.

Can't defend the undefendable. When they're bad, they're bad. For me, I'm just not as quick to label one as bad as others are.

Damn. Chief of Police... all that work to get up through the ranks- and he's so stupid and short-sighted that he throws it away over an X-Box? Dumbass. :rolleyes
