I actually wonder if anyone out there has got the Y brand burned onto their chest.

That’s when I turned in my interest in the show. No, nobody in my ranching family ever got a goddam brand on themselves. The contrast of a super-rich rancher with a bunkhouse of idiots getting branded was too much.

I like Longmire okay. Ms. BA is super-fan. Which is why we went to Wyoming for Longmire days and I got to see what’s up there. We went first to Tetons and Jackson, then a few days commuting into Yellowstone, then over for a night in Cody then on to Buffalo for said event.

Meeting most of the cast was sorta worth it. Lou Diamond Phillips and Katie Sackhoff didn’t show but all the rest did and it was cool. Street dance with ol’ Walt signing autos and doing usies with super fans was great. I pushed Ms BA into the fray because she was too polite to do it on her own. If you ever would want to see a female melt, it was it. I ain;t jealous. Zahn McLarnon is a very cool bro, stuck in endless stereotype roles but making the best of it. Another really cool dude is A Martinez.

I am surprised at how popular Yellowstone has been but if you think about it, it’s an awful lot like the old Dallas. And that was huge hit.

Well I certainly liked his character here better than when we was in Fargo.

I always enjoyed his character as well.

What's curious to me, because I don't know, but I have to roughly assume that the dynamics of the relationship between the county and the tribe, I guess has to be somewhat kinda sort more close to "real" than not?

I only say that because I never heard any real outcry about how the show was representing it, well, wrong. Certainly a tough dynamic, at least at portrayed.

In California, its hard to know. We have rancherias and such, but they are quite different than the large reservations in other states. But media is full of the new dynamics of casinos and such, so I assume it’s close.

THough we cancelled due to weather, we were supposed to go to the Grand Canyon skywalk which is on native land. The contract online to sign for reservations was rather formal about their independent jurisdiction and different governmental authority regarding liability and personal behavior. It was obvious that state cops etc are not “there.”

Funny, I was thinking the same.

Pam = Monica
Sue Ellen = Beth
Bobby = Kayce

Just finished S5 E8, which makes me caught up.

Of course, the last goddamn scene was all about the cross-eyes whiner, Monica.

Why'd we get so much Jimmy in the mid season finale? Very odd.

As much as I dont like Beth, her knowing about the Train Station might open things up. Does she kill Jaime?

Jamie does have a good point about his goal in keeping the ranch by leasing the land. That $$ is gone if no airport.

Gotta figure out how The Y makes money by not destroying the land.

Can you imagine how it must have been riding? It looks good for the photo like "oh this just happened!". Yeahhhhh, no. You had a hundred indicators of something being very wrong before that happened. He was probably having a blast laughing hysterically doing five mile long wheelies down the freeway.

1. Jaime = Cliff Barnes

2. i am goddamn sick and tired of Beth. Was hoping Summer would pound her face shut.

3. Glad that Summer and Ryan’s GF have fat butts otherwise too fake.

4. Jamie / Beth Deathmatch - short of who killed JR but enticing nonetheless. I doubt the series can survive without Jaime.

5. Hope Kayce cheats on whiner-wife. Eventually he will succumb to the legendary adage: no matter how good looking a girl is, there’s alway one guy tired of fucking her.

6. Pretty sure Ryan and Colby ad-lib their lines. Really enjoy their characters. Hope there’s a Ryan-Colby spin-off.

7. Looks like devil-daughter Beth is going to take Yellowstone into the meat industry.

Just bought 1883 S1 on Bezos Prime. Watched E1. Its okay. Didn’t suck me in like Yellowstone. Faith Hill isn’t as pretty as I remembered her. So many fake southern accents.

Isabel May and Sam Elliot are the only two actors in 1883 that aren't from the south as I recall so it's not like many of them were faking it. Sam likely would get a pass from anyone as that man's voice is basically a gift.
Isabel is easy enough to understand in normal acting mode, but her narrated lines often required me to turn on the closed captions.

Isabel May’s dyed blonde hair does not make sense.

LaMonica Garrett becoming my 2nd fave character. Grew up in California. Sam is my no. 1.

PS - Someone tell Hollywood that dead bodies turn gray in minutes.

Completed the binge-watch of 1883.

Dislikes:

• Elsa “John Boy Walton” narrating wore me out.
• Everyone had perfect white teeth.
• Seemed 2-3 episodes too long.
• Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson cameo was distracting.
• Native Americans should’ve have been deeply tanned and spoke in broken English.
• Elsa over exaggerated when she rode - kind of like guys that tuck while riding at 35 mph

Likes:

• Provides background on importance of Dutton Ranch
• Tim is a darn good actor. Really like his strut. Faith is also good.
• Sam’s character.
• All those gorgeous lever action rifles and single action revolvers.

I guess I’ll binge the other prequel.
