Z900

Had mine since 2017, just clicked 31K on the ODO.... it's been great.

Highly recommend any version, you will not regret it.

Thanks! So not the Z900rs but the ABS? If the ABS, do your knees get cramped? that's my only concern. Other than that, it looks sweet.

It's not too hard on the knees, but I did buy the Kawi accessory seat that's a bit taller and thicker.

Good luck with your decision! :thumbup

My 2019 model has 25K with no issues. The in-line-4 engine is powerful and silky smooth. I'm 170lb. The Z900 front forks are sprung too soft (for a 140lb rider) and the rear shock is sprung too hard (for a 200lb rider.) The previous Kawis I've owned only needed less expensive Race Tech front fork emulators. The Z900 forks, however, do not accept emulators (only one fork is functional for compression) and requires fork inserts. I went with a set of Andreani from Jim at Catalyst Reaction. For the rear spring, I added a set of Shad luggage and a tool kit to weigh down the rear.

When new, the throttle felt snatchy to me (no riding modes). I used damping grease under the throttle grip to slow it down a tad.

Accessories are cheap because so many Z900s are sold world wide. For example, my Z900 logo radiator guard I bought on Ebay for about $35 (I don't remember the exact amount.) Also bought a taller wind screen, bar riser, shorty levers, carbon fiber look plastic body pieces for cheap too. A lighter muffler is next.

I love the Z900RS. It's such a bad ass bike and brings back memories of my Uncle Alvin's '79 KZ1000

Here's a pic of the new 2024 model...

Yeah the Z900rs brings back a lot of memories for me too ...I remember when a lot of hooligans in the Soul Brothers club used to wheelie the Z1s up and down the street for a couple blocks at a time.

I'm another super-pleased Z900RS owner since they hit the floor in 2018. After 70+ bikes this is about the first that there's nothing I want to change besides one-tooth larger countershaft sprocket. If you view it as an old-man's ride, well you'd be right and wrong. It's just a really well thought out and functional real-world street bike. And plenty fast. Plenty.
