4th Annual Rydther Hawthorne Run, Sept 9-11, 2011!

FreeRydeJunky and I boosted out of the H around 930 with full gas tanks. Zoomed to 395, where we talked to BigB and his two riding buds. They were gonna have lunch in Lee Vining, and if we crossed paths, well & good.

FRJ and I gassed up again there, and hit 120. We stopped before the gate and bundled up, it was getting f'n COLD. Long-ass line up to the gate, then rolled as quickly as possible thru the Y. Saw a few motos & waved.

Stopped for lunch at the Iron Door Saloon in Groveland on 120, excellent buffalo burgers and Buffalo Brown Ale. :thumbup Definitely a great place to have lunch, highly recommend.

On thru 120 thru Manteca, etc., and thru to 205/580 & home sweet home... :thumbup

Great time, great friends, great riding. I thank you all for your hospitality and I'll see you there next year! :teeth

Lucky!!!

We got hit hard with rain on our run over 120. Never saw any of our BARF group going over. Ya made it dry.... we should have gone with you! :x

http://goo.gl/cbR6g Ran the GoPro on 30 second photos over 120.. experience our ride. Haha

Bozeman, Glacier to Canmore AB, 627 miles today, Banff National Park in the morning.....

Wow you are knocking out the miles Ian. any chance you've had time for pictures?

BibB, those are cool. you could make a rad gif with music. :teeth

IanH, good meeting you in Hawthorne, and like others, also jealous of your miles currently. good luck, and hope you are having fun as well.

Cool stuff B! Looks like Virginia City was crowded.

The Hawthorne ride is officially over. Home at last, Banff, Icefields Parkway, Jasper, then home, 690 miles today in 11 hours, for a grand total of 5980 miles for the 14 days.

I was going to over night in Edmonton and push on home in the morning but I had a couple of "moments" and caught Gethomeitus...:ride

Snow flurries on the Parkway and temps around freezing, then severe crosswinds on the prairie that caused both wheels to slide sideways crossing some steel plate covering an excavation :wow pucker factor 100% :twofinger The last 150 miles in rain :wtf

Where we gonna ride next year??? :teeth

Ian, glad you're home safe, and glad you were able to join us! It was great seeing you again! :cool

Was he the one who got stuck behind the train with me shortly after you passed me?

Nope, I was leading and he followed me on the right turn there, went up 1/4 mile, took the left over the tracks and back onto the highway... :teeth

Ahead of all y'all... :rofl

Since the Hawthorne Rally was an opportunity for lots of folks to ride Sonora and Ebbetts passes, as part of BARF's #1 Road in California the polls are up for your voting pleasure.

Ebbetts

Sonora

:teeth

just rode both those passes yesterday. With the snow, sand and pine needles, you don't want me to vote :laughing
