EA235 Yes, he's gone

From his last post on his blog:

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?
To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream:
ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;

My sincere best to Eric's family and friends. Hang in, there, Jeff.

:rip

Did not know you Eric except what i heard about your accident/recovery through the forums. Sad, sad, sad.

Such mixed feelings going on inside right now about this horrible situation and the lasting effect on his family. I can only hope that he found the peace he was searching for and that his family may find some one day as well.

I'm so angery and sad all at the same time, there was so much he still had to offer everyone that was a part of his life, that I can only feel nothing right now.

What ever any of us were and planned on doing for him we should all still honor his memory by doing the same for his family that we would have for him.

:cry

I'm glad your suffering is no longer, homie. Rest in peace, man. We'll miss ya.

RIP. I never knew you, but from the Keigwin's day at Thunderhill last month, I knew you had many friends. I know you will be missed.

Thanks Eddy for gathering the strength inside to take the bold steps as you have done since Eric's injury through to now and lead with truth. I appreciate everything about the efforts you and Cheryl have put in behind the scenes, and that goes out to everyone who took the time to write, donate, attend events and offer support to Eric at all times to date. The sheer amount of help was staggering - and a true reflection of the essence of the man who touched so many lives.

To Lance and Linda and all the Keigwin family, my heart goes out to you in this time of surprise or shock, grief or anger, pain or comfort in Eric's departure. Everyone who knew Eric will probably go through all of the above and more for quite some time to come. We need to be there for each other - that is what family does.

I have precious few very close friends and Eric was an inspiration to me from my first days with Keigwins many years ago when I started with a Ford Ranger, an idea and an empty stomach.

I valued his immense knowledge, his whit, his brusqueness and his bare honesty. He helped me get to where I am today and I am sure he touched so many lives in the same positive way with all who came to know him through motorcycling. The future of CRST was his idea and I will now try to move that forward as best I can in honor of him.

I lost a best friend, but I am not alone in this loss. Having the motorcycle community is one of the most valuable 'possessions' I have.

I will share this with everyone:
I asked Eric twice not to race on that Saturday and again Sunday morning. Then I pleaded with him. I can't let that go and I need help with that.

Thanks to all those that attended the fund raiser. Thank you so much.

The grief is overpowering me. I need to go.

I hope everyone can take some time to help those around us that need it.
