Insurrection racing!!!

No love for 650 Prod? :teeth

Alan,

Just an oversight...we see 650 production as one of the best classes in The AFM! Payouts for 650 Prod. will be the same as they are for all the other classes! Thank you for bringing that to my attention...I knew I had left at least one or two classes out! Thanks again Alan!

And, hey, we're going to make your SaferMoto suits look very, very badass...Rory has us with a great beginning!!!

Maybe there was an oversight to the 250 Production class too Wade :laughing

but we did have 24 signed up for this last weekend, and with a lot of entry level riders in that class, getting to them early could be beneficial throughout their career ;)

Just saying...:laughing

High Tech Design, Artisan Quality
All PILOT products are designed using the most up-to-date Computer Aided Design software. Your custom suit is then cut and sewn by hand, just for you. With quality control at the top of our priority list, we are able to bring you reliable, high quality products, custom-made at a surprisingly reasonable price. PILOT professional roadrace suits are produced for optimal comfort and a racer fit. Every detail of the product has been carefully designed and manufactured to keep you focused on the task at hand... Winning. Try a set of PILOT leathers and see the difference that high-tech design combined with unique workmanship can make.
Seams and Materials
We take stitching and seam construction very seriously. We double and triple-stitch our leathers, using only the highest grade of nylon thread available to provide maximum strength. PILOT suits are made with premium grade milled cowhide. This remarkably supple leather provides exceptional tear and abrasion resistance. Swiss-made Schoeller Keprotec is also used for air flow and increased movement in the arms, crotch and back of knee.
Suit Armor
The armor used in our professional suits is the result of years of testing and refinement . The construction is unique to PILOT and provides superior durability. Our leathers are reinforced with anatomically molded CE armor in the arms, shoulders and knees/shins. The CE armor is sewn into a foam comfort pad and then stitched into the suit using a comfort foam pocket. This method results in a more comfortable fit.

As far as crash worthiness, Dane Westby went down at 170 mph at Daytona on the worst pavement possible...got up, walked away...all seams have the PASS system and are double or triple-stitched...Carrie repairs a ton of suits and PILOT is as good as it gets! If I were to take a bad fall, I would definitely hope I was in PILOT leathers; PILOT takes safety very seriously!

So is custom fitting extra? Who custom fits the rider? Any guarantee on the fit? Made overseas I'm assuming? Thanks for the quick answers, sounds good so far.

^^^^

Yody, you can get custom fitted at the mini-mart shop at Thunderhill... that's where 100% and his partner are located and where they do the fitting.

I'm also interested in the guarantee on the fit, where the leather is from as well as where it's actually manufactured.

Thanks!

PS: Yody, there's a thread -- I believe in the general forum, about someone who bought one and what it cost and he absolutely loved it so far. I'm pretty sold as far as a custom suit goes for when it's time -- as of now, I'll stick with my Joe Rocket and buy more tires.

Production is partly overseas, partly in Murrieta, CA. We won't disclose where the leather is from; otherwise other companies would be clogging up our tannery. Numerous other companies have approached PILOT trying to find where we source the leather.

We begin by getting you in a stock size....and address fit issues from there...we measure out problem areas, and build the pattern from an amalgamation of stock size and personal measurements. The price for custom fit ranges from $0 to $300, depending on how many measurements we end up changing and / or if we have to create an entirely custom pattern.

For women, we have to just measure out the 26 measurements and fit the suit to the girl like a glove. Carrie measured out Jennifer Lauritzen this past Sun. Her suit is going to be fit to her perfectly!

So far, we haven't had one misstep with fit (and this is on quite a lot of suits!)...we're pretty good at getting the right measurements...and we won't stick someone with an undesirable fit!

Rory--this is headed your way. Send it along to your buddy once you've tried it on and once you've given me a call to address fit. We'll get the art done up and then we'll get your suits into production!!!

Dane Wesby's PILOT after a 170mph fall at Daytona!

Dane Wesby's PILOT after a 170mph fall at Daytona!

As you can see by the images provided, there was a lot of abrasion, but the seams are intact due to PILOT's "PASS" way of sewing suits together. What is gone on the outside is still going strong on the inside.

You can also see the strength of the Keprotec. This is the good stuff and all that we use. It has a very high abrasion resistance and nothing else works like it.

Dane suffered no rash or damage from the suit. He was fine and only suffered a broken thumb as a result of the crash.

Here are the photos--170mph fall on the worst pavement imaginable! We have photos galore of this suit...no one can believe it held up as well as it did!

I am looking forward to wearing Pilot.

I recently spent a very rainy day with Wade and we were able to work out a deal that puts me in a Pilot suit. So far my experience has been great. We spent a ton of time just learning about the suit and safety features. Because I ride in the 600 smash and bash class this is really important.

Safety aside, several other things made the decision easy to make. Fit is a big deal. They are light and easy to move in. The customer service was top notch. Wade didn't even know my name and treated me like a top level AMA rider the minute I walked in. The onsight repair is also great. The coolest part is the design. They have plenty of suites I already like, but we are making our own design. They gave me a bunch of ideas, but said not to let that limit me. I have been looking at a ton of Pro suits and getting more ideas.

The suit is reasonably priced and not much more than off the rack stuff. Wade also told me anyone who says that I sent in will get a discount on a suit:thumbup. If you are on a budget and want to look like a pro, this is the place.

I will post back and let you know how the design is going.
