Insurrection racing!!!

Check this out...!!!

Today, we were delivered four AMA suits for either small alterations or for the repair of crash damage.

Jason DiSalvo really put some grindage (almost 8mm!!!) on the right shoulder here and made me decide, right there and then, that I'll never wear a suit without external overlayed alloy armor.

Imagine what would have happened to Jason if this overlayed armor wasn't there...in all likelihood he would have been flipped and we wouldn't be watching him at Barber next weekend!

And, here's Carrie--C-STAR @IR...LOL...--with her three favorite riders' suits--those riders being Wade "the speedster" Bundy ; - ) ; and AMA riders Jason DiSalvo and Dane Westby. We just all happen to be in PILOT...LOL... ; - )

I didn't think I'd like either Jason DiSalvo's or Dane Westby's suit design, but when I saw the designs in person, I wanted both of 'em!!! If you're coming to PTT this Mon., June 13, stop by the ProShop at Thunderhill to check out these amazing suits...you can also see the beatings that these suits took and what they hold up to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These suits are tough as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the star spangled suit yesterday. Fits great!

Awesome Rory! Yeah, that suit is bright...it'll make you stand up and salute!!!...someone should buy it or design one like it for the upcoming 4th of July!!! Actually, there's even a track day on the 4th...Zoom Zoom at Thunderhill, right!!!???

I recently spent a very rainy day with Wade and we were able to work out a deal that puts me in a Pilot suit. So far my experience has been great. We spent a ton of time just learning about the suit and safety features. Because I ride in the 600 smash and bash class this is really important.

Safety aside, several other things made the decision easy to make. Fit is a big deal. They are light and easy to move in. The customer service was top notch. Wade didn't even know my name and treated me like a top level AMA rider the minute I walked in. The onsight repair is also great. The coolest part is the design. They have plenty of suites I already like, but we are making our own design. They gave me a bunch of ideas, but said not to let that limit me. I have been looking at a ton of Pro suits and getting more ideas.

The suit is reasonably priced and not much more than off the rack stuff. Wade also told me anyone who says that I sent in will get a discount on a suit:thumbup. If you are on a budget and want to look like a pro, this is the place.

I will post back and let you know how the design is going.

Jason--We're so happy to have you riding in PILOT and hope that you'll be in PILOT suits for years to come!!! Welcome aboard!!!

WOW, very impressive how well DiSalvo's suit held up. Makes me twice as happy that I went with Insurrection and Pilot. The shop at T-hill during the rained AFM event was swamped with customers. My long time track buddy Joe ended up ordering a suit after he spent some time with Wade and Carrie on Saturday, and he didn't even need a suit ! :thumbup

If I've forgotten anything, please bring it to my attention! Peeps can pick up the PILOT decals at the Thunderhill ProShop at any date prior to Rd. 5 and we'll have them available with someone (we'll figure that person out between now and Rd. 5...maybe we'll show up for some good racing!!!) at AFM Rd. 5

I thought I'd include this, as it's pretty cool! It's great the way PILOT really supports and highlights their AMA racers!!!

You AFMer's have no idea how lucky you are to have Wade and Carrie working trackside for you! And now contingency too??!!?? DANG!!!

I went to visit Wade for the first time back in March, and was surprised to be treated like a factory pro from the moment I walked in the door. From help designing to fitting my new leathers, I have never had such customer service in this sport. And keep in mind, as a 50 year old "has been" club racer, I have been around long enough to be on the receiving end of a lot of marginal customer service!!

My new Pilot leathers fit like a glove, and they look KILLER!!!

And check THIS out...when I told Wade and Carrie about an issue I had with the back protector and a possible fix, they modified my back protector, and then told Pilot about the issue. And now all the new Pilot back protectors are made with my idea! How dang cool is that?!?!?!

Wade and Carrie have set a new standard by which I will measure all other suppliers to our sport. I can only hope the others can even get close.....

THANKS INSURRECTION!!!!!!:thumbup

Amazing leathers! Good photo too...

I was at Daytona and Pilot was everywhere...even the guys who ride in A*s have their crews outfitted with Pilot pit gear! Without qualification, I can definitely say that Pilot was the most represented brand in the Daytona paddock--it was everywhere...I think Pilot is the AMA's hidden little secret...both on the box AND in the paddock.

Ohhh! This just keeps getting better and better!

I've already decided that I'm going with Pilot when I decide to buy a custom suit (probably this off-season), now I may just have to wait for the safer-moto equipped one while I'm at it!

It's not safermoto equipped, just safermoto badged with patches placed for visibility when wearing a safermoto vest... which Insurrection also carries :)

Off topic but further explanation:

I was involved in an attempt to incorporate Hit Air systems in leathers. The idea was to be able to sell it like a kit, just tailor it into your suit and go. This would keep cost's down.

The problem is, leathers fit really snug where a vest has a bit of give. Since everyone's body is shaped a bit different, the vest works because with just a few sizes you can reach a broad audience... thusly mass produce and keep cost down. When the bags deploy, if there's not quite enough room between your shoulders and the bottom of your helmet for the airbag, the vest can spread a bit and keep your head from shooting off like a champagne cork.

Once you swap from vest to form fitting leather, that give is gone... so now you have the liability of customers being injured during normal operation. This means designing bags to custom fit a riders neck/shoulder/helmet... which means huge R&D cost and cost for the consumer to have a custom bag.

So basically, vest over leathers means same safety, less hassle, and less cost/work all around.

Thanks for the info Rory.

How you like the suit and what did it run you, if you don't mind me asking?

Don’t have it yet, we're still being picky about the design :) I'll post pics when it get's here. Cost to me has been more than fair thanks to Safermoto :teeth

I love this suit...

I really love this suit we just created for Scott Morrison!!!

We put Dave Moss from Catalyst Reaction Suspension in PILOT today (he's already got an OTT PILOT suit!!!) and Martin Szwarc's suit art should be done any day now....Martin's suit is absolutely amazing!!!
