Would a "last minute" trackday work?

First ever DirtyD trackday that I have attended. I am IMPRESSED. This was one of the smoothest trackday events that I have ever gone too. Thank you, thank you, thank you DirtyD. My friends and I had a great time and plenty of track time. The weather was absolutely perfect too. Amazing trackday to start off the season.

Thanks Joe from 4theriders for the pics.

Thanks Dave from Catalyst Reaction Suspension for the suspension services.

Thanks Pirelli and everyone else that came out to make this day so much fun for all.

I agree with all of the above comments -- great day, nice 2 group format. Plenty of track time and room to ride. 30 minute sessions with 2 groups is SO MUCH BETTER that the 3 group 20 format. Dan, thanks for the work in putting this together!!

30min is way too long for someone who has not been exercising for ages :teeth

Didn't say I wasn't half-dead after 30 mins - i was! - nice because didn't feel like you absolutely had to be on-track the minute session opened and ride to the last second as you do with 20 mins sessions. If you got on a couple minutes late and off a few early, still felt like plenty of riding. and 30 min wait just seems better than 40

Epic day Dan, thanks for putting this on, and thanks Joe/co for taking some awesome pics. The 30 minute sessions worked out perfect. I think I'll have to try this backwards track stuff sometime :thumbup

Dan's backwards day at Thill is just as much fun!!:thumbup:ride

anyone with vidz feel free to post up links. it's always fun to see how awkward we look riding...priceless.

Yep what Markie said......

I really liked the 2 group format/open trackday. My KTM wasnt running @100% but I was still able to get out there and have a f*cking blast. Sorry if I slowed anyone on the straights.(only straights :) ) will definitely be looking for DirtD trackdays again.

Here's my lil' mostly-stock 14,000 mile Ninja 650. I was super-rusty and going slowly, so it was nice to have an inexpensive day to learn how to ride again. :laughing At least I know clearly what I need to work on the next time out.

Holy jebus that bike sounds fast! Haha! Not too shabby of laptimes either! You should try blipping the throttle on downshifts and getting it all done before entering the corners. I bet you'll get 5 seconds a lap off that alone.

what do you mean by "mostly stock"?
nothing I can see in the video (fairings, triple tree, clip-on, lap timelr...) is stock :laughing

anyway, nice riding :thumbup

Nope, those triples came like that from the factory... :) I ziptied the lap timer to the stock bar clamp.

And yes, I made a 999 upper fit with zipties (sense a theme?). I call it a Ninjati. :teeth

Thanks "D"! Really great to be back on the track! Man can that kid (#16) ride! Joe, Toe you guys rock! Thanks for not jinxing me! I kept it up all day:)
Dave, One gain, you dialed in a bike perfect for me! The Husky was a dream to ride in hills of Mendocino on Sun! What a great MOTO weekend!. I want MOAR!
Rick, Vince Sako, this is going to be a great AFM season.. even if we are @ the back of the pack:)

Thanks Dan, had a great time! That was my first trackday i was hella nervous the night before lol.

:)Everyone is, but I bet by mid-day you just had a huge freaking smile on your face, huh?:thumbup
Another one hooked.:cool
:ride
lol after the first session i came back to the truck and my friends said "look at that huge stupid grin on his face" Yup im officially hooked, just need to find out how you guys afford these trackdays. lol

You don't look too bad for a first-timer on the track. :thumbup

And :thumbup :thumbup for you for not turning the bike you've wanted for such a long time into a garage queen.

Hahaha thanks, yea as long as i have a bike im gonna use it. Although i did clean it thoroughly when i got it home last night, but i did have the thought in mind i gotta at least enjoy it. I told myself after the first session if it goes down it turns into a trackbike lol.
