San Francisco Motorcycle Club - Est. 1904

yes, Vince designed it … props will be delivered. :thumbup

I like it, too. I’ve been trying to get the art from him so I can get it made into a back patch for a vest. :laughing

well, we’re getting pretty excited about the Mt Tam Easter Sunday Sunrise ride on 04/20/2025. Like last year, we’re planning on breakfast stuff and a bike blessing on Easter Sunday, after the ride back from Mt Tam:

couple of Mr @kalle pics from last year;

our friends from Munroe Motors have been doing the heavy lifting making sure the gate on Mt Tam is open at 5:30 am, so big thanks to them! :ride

We're threatening to have the clubhouse at 18th and Folsom open at 4am, with kickstands up at 5am for the ride to Tam Junction. Sunrise on 04/20/2025 on Mt Tam is 6:28 am. 🥳

How about it Kobaz boys...you up? It's been 20yrs since I've done it.

I am just not a go ride in the dark guy. The old eyes just do not function to the level I want when it is dark.

The sunrise and sharing smiles would be nice, but.....

This....but I'm still seriously considering attending.
I did the SMR for so many years. I literally grew up in the shadow of Mt Tam.
Getting up early isn't the heavy lifting for me. ....
If I'm being honest, I'm developing a case of unsavory night blindness. I used to know the slick patches up there by heart....not anymore.
I also need a new headlamp ignighter....so there's that.
Don't be too shocked if you see me up there, though....

Nice rig #. Dancing with the devil baby!!

Video queued up!

That was cool. That aluminum wheel defies common sense.

Jim rocks. SFMC should be proud. :thumbup

I left San Leandro around 3:30 AM, got to the clubhouse right at 4AM. Met George/Fluffy BC, SFMCJohn, & some other folks. By the time we left the SFMC club around 4:45AM, there was plenty of light to see by, streetlights were unnecessary.

The ride up was great, good spacing between the riders, nobody was stupidly passing. The club was guarding the cross-streets, too. The fogbank wasn't too bad, no tarsnakes, no "holy shit, POTHOLE!!" incidents, nobody took to the shoulders to pass or have their bike take a nap.

Got up to the top, nice & clear, plenty of time to find a parking spot, talk to the other riders, meet friends (Hi, Gwynnie!!), and wait for the sun to break over the clouds...

After the sun came up, an orderly departure, one gentleman took pics of all of us, thanks!!! Went back down thru SF to the clubhouse, signed in, paid the $5 for breakfast, spent time chatting with friends old & new, got the bike blessed by a younger gent in a toga & crown of "thorns", no blood spilt.

All in all, a great time. Will put this on my calendar for all the next times!!
