World Cup

France and Morocco.

If there is no favoritism showed, Morocco has a decent chance of beating them. They looked great against Brazil.

Lol at this thread on page 3, 3 days no posts.

Mega flop by Swiss player may have just cost them their tournament.

They tied the score, had momentum, then he took a pathetic flop for his second yellow card,

now you're letting Argentina play man up for 20 minutes or more.

Not a good game plan

And what a fight by Switzerland, almost took it to penalty kicks, but the inevitable happened

Sadly that may be true.

The officiating that I've seen from match to match is very inconsistent.

You can have 2 teams who are playing rough and the officials call almost nothing, then you have teams like Spain who are flopping all over the field and the officials are getting involved repeatedly.

I don't think that VAR is really making much of a difference aside from catching, once in awhile, when the player wasn't even touched, but I've seen enough where they intentionally went down to get a penalty kick and the officials allowed it.

almost like it's hundreds of different referees from all over the world that have their own different opinions of how the rules should be enforced.

The majority of calls have been right in this tournament.

The fix is on. Actively rooting against Argentina. LOL
Argentina gets decisions from their pleading with the ref other teams would not.

The Swiss player who got the second yellow for faking a foul was less egregious than Messi faking a foul after running into a Swiss player and falling over.

His reward was a free kick.

Hopefully England will prevail against them as the Messi worship by the announcers is grating.

England repelled the Vikings by the skin of their teeth. Argentina only just beat Switzerland who were a (questionable) man down. Both teams played below par, so let's see how the England v Argentina match works out.
Is an England v France final too much to hope for?

Can't believe they are in the semi.

Last time they won was when I moved here from the UK.

Yes, I'm old. :afm199

We might be a similar age. I vividly recall that 1966 WC match and all the disappointments since. Sadly, I expect we are in for some more infamous "hand of god" moments on Wednesday care of FIFA and Giani Infantino's meddling.

Oh, no doubt, Argentina has the ear of the refs and VAR.

Messi is a messiah to them.
