Did that when I lived in FL. Officer basically grunted “ok” and I still got the ticket. :mad:

Mind you, and I am NOT kidding here, the other vehicle pulled over at the same speed I was doing on my bike was a SCHOOL BUS in the same SCHOOL ZONE. We’re talking 27 in a 25 kind of ticket...like speedo error range.

I've had nothing but outstanding interactions with CHiP officers, so whether I legally had to or not, I'm inclined to just hand over my ID. That's just me. Having said that, LEOs need to understand that motorcyclists meet up with riders we dont know and then ride together. This is pretty common.

So I am curious in this scenario:

You are riding on the Bay Bridge home from SF, there is a takeover by the 12'oclock group. The are wreaking havoc. You decide to lane split to get out of there. Get to the Oakland side and the bridge is blocked off by CHP. They order you off the bike and ask for ID... How does that not infringe on your constitutional rights? You had nothing to do with the group etc etc....

Anyways with flock this will probably just get more difficult to untangle.

Is it a speed trap to calculate average speed between 2 floc cameras? How about using that for reasonable suspicion and then using a cellphone data search like google maps pin points...

This isn't rocket surgery. The CHP are able to detain you and ask for your ID because they are investigating the 'takeover' / crime. Is it not reasonable to connect a motorcycle to the event you described? My answer would be different if it was a bus that was stopped and the occupants were ordered out and ID'd.

Yeah, I'd be ID'ing in this case, arguing that I was not involved, and if charged anyhow, using my dashcam footage to show that the charges were unfounded. Deffo not going to resist ID when they're investigating a legitimate crime like a street takeover or sideshow.

I got pulled over under similar-ish circumstances a few years ago.

"I'm just a girl and don't know those guys."

But it wasn't in this case, no sideshow or takeover, just a few motos riding around, like every john joe Prius or one of the nice fancy cars on the way to a car show, like the recent one in Monterey. Everyone there subject to unlawful detention? You won't care until they come for you and yours.

I'm gonna back up to the privileged part. What if you were riding horses or just walking? That's where we lost it, freedom. Before you know it, being charged taxes will be a privilege.

cheez was responding to my reply and question to Dmitriy's post, not the opening post of the thread.

In reference to the OP and vid, debating this on the side of the road is not the best course of action. Ask the questions (Is this a Consensual Encounter? Why did you pull me over? What infraction did I commit?) to get them captured on video, and hand over your license.

If you feel the cop did something wrong, you have video (yours and theirs) for a case, or at a minimum, a discussion with someone in their chain of command.

The side of the road is not the place to argue / debate / resist.
